The Watertown Pistol Company was founded in 1892 by three men who had left the Union Army to join the Dakota Territory. The company manufactured pistols and revolvers using a unique design. The pistols were known as "Watertown rifles." The Watertown Rifle Company became part of the Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1899. In 1902, Winchester merged with Remington and produced single-action shotguns under the name RemingtonRandolph. The Watertown Pistol Company became a subsidiary of Winchester Repeating Arms Company. In 1907, Winchester merged with Colt Firearms Corporation to form Colt-Winchester Firearms Corporation. At this time, handgun manufacturing operations were divided between both companies. In 1911, the Watertown Pistol Company produced its last pistol for sale to civilians before it was destroyed in a fire.

This type of grip is generally recommended for people who have strong hands or who frequentlyhandle firearms without gloves. open-Loop Grip - Open-Loop guns such as revolvers use an open loop design where there is no permanently attached loop; instead, there is just one screw near one end which attaches directly tothe frame/handguard (usually behind). With an open Loop design, you can adjust how tight or looseness you want your open Loop grip by adjusting two screws located on opposite ends ofthe ring around which your gripping handle grows (see image below). When tightened down all together, this createsa very firm closed Loop Grip since there isn't much movement possible while holding ontoyour weapon! However, if you ever lose dexterity dueto age or injury, then opening up these grips may be necessary in order to reacquire control overyourweapon
