However, since then numerous businesses have failed or closed their doors due to various reasons including economic recession; increased competition from other counties around town; changes brought about by legislation such asizarrely changing from open enrollment into standardized testing laws; or simply because they could not compete against larger cities that had more resources available to them financially.
