In 1830, Castle Hill was built as a trading post by local residents to facilitate trade with nearby Cuba. In 1865, Confederate troops burned down Fort Johnson after they captured Port Royal.
Port Royal, South Carolina (commonly known as Port Royal) is a town located in Sumter County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 6,462 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Sumter County. The town was platted in 1820 and named for Sir John Williams, 5th Baronet who died in 1819. The first settler arrived in 1826. The first store was built on what is now Main Street by J.D. Hillyer and Wm Henson. A post office was established in 1830 and remained open until 1902 when it was discontinued because of high postage rates occasioned by its remote location. In 1865 General Ulysses S Grant visited Port Royal and ordered all Confederate soldiers must leave the town or be deported to slavery if they did not renounce their allegiance to the Confederacy! Many Confederates stayed and founded new businesses such as a tannery which still exists today, a grocery store/cafeteria combo theater complex called the Regal Theater Annexe that opened in 1976, two churches- one completed in 1903 featuring a Neo-Gothic Revival style design by noted architect Edward Logue Harper and dedicated to Bishop George Washington Peebles; Stonewall Jackson's tomb also surrounded by stone markers marking his gravesite In 1966, "The Citadel Review" published an article about how Samuel Ashe had been lynched outside of PortRoyal after challenging white supremacy there

There are many different types of scope mounts, but the most common type is the mechanical scope mount. A mechanical scope mount typically consists of a platform that is attached to the rifle barrel by a screw or other attaching device, and a rangefinder or sights that are affixed to the platform. The platforms can be moved around to adjust the positioning of the sight on the target so that it is as close or as far away from the shooter as desired.
