The first scopes were invented in Orangeburg, South Carolina in 1827. The inventor was a man named George Washington Dixon and he built the first scope for use with a telescope. He used it to view the stars at night. It wasn’t until 1878 that someone developed a scope that could be used with an antiqued rifle. This was called the “Dixon Rifle Scope” and it became popular because it allowed shooters to target targets at long distances with accuracy. Over time, more and more people began using scopes for hunting and fishing. In 1937, a man named Edwin Rhein developed a scope that could be used with handguns. This was called the “Rhein Pistol Scope” and it became very popular among hunters because it allowed them to shoot targets from long distances without having to worry about hitting their target multiple times. In 1959, another man named Ray Erikson developed a new type of scope called the “Erickson Scope” which allowed users to see objects up close without having to wear vision protection equipment. This was very important because it made hunting much easier for people who wanted to hunt game from far away! Today, many people use scopes for all kinds of activities, such as bird watching and photography.

In Orangeburg, South Carolina, there is a history of scopes dating back to the 1800s. In 1824, William Kittrell and his sons built the first telescope in Orangeburg. Kittrell was an early proponent ofObservatory Science and developed new methods for astronomical observation. In 1827, he donated land to the town for its observatory. The Kittrell Observatory was one of the largest in America at that time and helped promote astronomy as a scientific discipline. In 1849, Reverend John Copley founded what is now Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Orangeburg. Copley was an important figure in American theological education and played a major role in developing Presbyterianism as a religious movement. He also pioneered experimental theology and served as its first president. The Kittrell Observatory was destroyed by fire in 1865, but it later reopened under new management with support from President Abraham Lincoln. The Kittrell Observatory continued to be used until 1907 when it was closed due to budget cuts within the Smithsonian Institution. It is currently being operated as part of Clemson University's science museum complex.
Orangeburg is a small town in southern South Carolina. The population was 8,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greenville–Spartanburg metropolitan area. Orangeburg is located near Spartanburg and Decatur. The town was founded in 1814 by white settlers who came from North Carolina. The first post office in Orangeburgh opened on November 10, 1817. The community grew rapidly due to its location and railroads that brought goods and passengers to and from nearby cities such as Greenville, Spartanburg, and Columbia. After years of growth, the University of South Carolina moved to Orangeburgh in 1938 and most of the businesses closed during the Great Depression. However, since then many businesses have reopened including a grocery store, hardware store, restaurants, schools, and a hospital. In recent years the town has seen an increase in development with new homes being built along State Street (the primary thoroughfare), as well as a new golf course and recreation center just east of town off US2 which will help keep the downtown core populated for decades to come Today's economy depends heavily on agriculture which produces cotton, soybeans, cornmeal/cornflakes (a key product for local mills), hay/livestock feedstock for livestock operations (mostly pigs), lumber products (including plywood used in construction), agricultural machinery parts made hereabouts (particularly impact crankshafts) and other items exported primarily to Europe

Orangeburg, South Carolina is a town located in Chesterfield County, South Carolina. The population was 1,542 at the 2010 census. It was founded by white settlers in 1795 and named for the orange tree that once grew there. Orangeburg is one of the oldest towns in Chesterfield County and has been home to various businesses and residents since its establishment. The first settler to arrive in Orangeburg were two families from Northampton County, Pennsylvania who arrived on July 7, 1795. They named their new settlement after a grove of oranges they saw growing near their farmstead. In 1802, another group of English settlers from Lancaster County arrived and renamed the town Orangeburg after themselves. This name stuck until 1911 when it was changed again to its current form - Orangeburg Township - due to discrimination against black residents at the hands of some local officials. As early as 1812, white men were active in citrus production in what is now Orangeburg Township. A small orchard was established by John Beasley around this time and continued operation until 1862 when it was destroyed by fire. By 1860, however, Oranges had become a prominent crop in this area and two large orchards were established near present-day Strathmore Avenue and Park Drive by Jethro Gibbs and James Prentice respectively. The same year also saw the opening of the first post office in Jackson Township (now Chesterfield) - which served as an important link between these areas of the county. During Reconstruction times (1865-1877), many black Americans fled south during the American Civil War because they felt unsafe living under white rule following Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation decreeing all slaves free across all Confederate States Of America (CSA). Many of these refugees settled down along Interstate 95 outside of White Hall before eventually returning home after hostilities ended six years later - but not before leaving behind an important legacy for future generations: over 2 million tons of cottonseed planted across southcentral Georgia alone as a result of these investments! Today much evidence still remains from those early days when citrus production dominated life hereabouts; such as Sonny Elliott’s Oranges stand – just off I-95 exit 337 towards Camden – where you can purchase up to 24kg/acre fresh oranges today…oranges are still king hereabouts!
