In Orangeburg, South Carolina, there is a long and proud history of holster manufacturing. It began with the production of pistols in 1887 by J.C. Higgins & Sons. The company became known for making quality holsters for both law enforcement and civilian use. In 1934, the Higgins family sold their business to the Smith & Wesson Corporation and continued to produce quality holsters under that company’s name until 1978. Here we will discuss some of the most common ones used in America today, as well as some rarer models that may be more unique or interesting. Types of Holsters There are three main types of holsters: draw-and-fire, retention, or cocking cantilever (C&C). The majority of holsters sold in America are drawn-and-fire holsters, meaning that you must first pull the gun out from its holster before being able to holster it again. This can be a bit cumbersome if your hands are small or if you're not very strong. Retention holsters allow you to keep your gun secure even when it's not in its holster but instead at your side or across your chest. This type is often more comfortable for long hours behind the wheel because it doesn't involve taking off your clothes

It is part of the Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1824 by five white men who named it for Orangeburgh, Scotland. It became a city in 1901 and ceased to be an unincorporated community in 1968. Orangeburg's history can be traced back to 1824 when five white men from Scotland named their new settlement Orangeburgh after the orange tree that grew near their home. They were looking for a place to settle down after leaving Edinburgh, where they had been born and raised. They arrived at what is now Orangeburg on July 24, 1824, and began building their homes. The first post office was established at Orangeburgh on October 9, 1825. In addition to agriculture and mercantile pursuits until 1861 when cotton became the predominant crop, early settlers also farmed land around present day downtown Orangeburg for chickens and horses before moving into more permanent housing in 1830s and 1840s. The growth of citrus production led to increased demand for goods produced by farmers within range of southern New England marketplaces during the 1830s–40s period known as "the Great Famine." As a result of this demand, many Scotsmen decided to move westward into America during this time period; some settling permanently while others moved temporarily overland until they found suitable sites within reach of what would become Orangeburg Township (now part of Greenville County). It wasn't until 1861 that cotton replaced sugar as the primary crop grown hereabouts; however, textile mills continued operating until 1978 when they closed due to economic decline throughout much of ourouthern United States combined with changing technology which made manufacturing obsolete yards away from consumers instead directly selling finished products direct - unable or unwilling ever again find customers willing & able pay prices above cost for quality manufactured items! Although such industries are no longer economically viable in today’s global economy; there are still places like ours dotted all across America where these old mills still line up & provide jobs paying good wages - sometimes even better than today’s “gigantic IT companies!” What we lackin’ now we may very well gainin’ someday! In fact one recent Old Mill Museum restoration project being completed right now just outside OfBtown limits has brought back so much lost history about those days that it could actually rival any modern museum! Today's Downtown orangeburgh offers plenty examples of what pioneer hardworking Scotsmen built: A Market Place complete with Four Gables which housed groceries/merchandise from local storerooms next door; Bank Building with Five stories added between 1860-1871 inclusive (renovated 1998); Presbyterian Church builtc 1865 (renovated 1978), Post Office building erected 1865-1868 including Second Floor courtroom original woodwork remains extant (currently used as Dining Room & Bedroom), jail built 1886 included 10' x 16' single cell block original Jail House architectural feature remain(currently used as Recreation Facility) Many other smaller buildings have been destroyed or remodeled over time but most notably: Southern Baptist Conventionbuilt 1895 First floor meeting hall remains currently used as classrooms/sanctuary today& Third Floor former adult education school building renamed library (& currently being used as offices)& Community Center constructed 1985 includes gymnasium/multi-purpose room original courtroom remained extant

Orangeburg was founded in 1772 by James Orange and his family. The town was named after the orange tree that grows in the area. In 1819, Orangeburg became a county seat of Spartanburg County. The county courthouse and jail were built in 1824. The first post office opened in Orangeburg in 1828. In 1861, Confederate General Pee Wee Crayton's headquarters were located in Orangeburg.
