The history of guns in Mauldin, South Carolina goes back to at least 1847. At that time, the area was part of the Cherokee Nation and gun ownership was limited to white men. In 1849, a group of Cherokees who were living in West Mauldin petitioned the United States government for permission to purchase rifles and shotguns from European settlers. The United States Government granted this request and also allowed the Cherokee Nation to import firearms for their own use. In 1862, Union troops burned down the courthouse in town. This event led to a move by some people in town to arm themselves with handguns and other weapons in order to defend themselves from future attacks. Over time, gun ownership became more common among residents of Mauldin as it grew more difficult for outsiders to restrictive laws on firearm possession or sale. In 1978, South Carolina passed an act legalizing handgun possession without a license which went into effect immediately. This law made it easier for citizens of Mauldin to own handguns and shoot at targets outside their homes without fear of prosecution or retribution from authorities.

As such, it experiences significant rainfall events from late winter through early spring through summer months while also witnessing some brief periods with measurable snowfall or ice accumulation during winter months; precipitation totals average around 60 inches (1 metre) annually on average..

Mauldin is a small town located in the U.S. state of South Carolina, on the Outer Banks. The population was 5,124 at the 2000 census. Mauldin is one of the oldest towns in South Carolina and has been around since 1672. The first white settler in Mauldin was James Smith, who arrived in 1672 from England. In 1814, William Troup purchased land here and built a plantation called "Plymouth Plantation". After his death in 1837, his son John Troup continued to live here until 1884 when he sold the property to Colonel David Dennison for £2,000. Colonel Dennison had come to Mauldin during the American Revolution as part of a military detachment under General Nathanael Greene and developed it into an agricultural community with sawmills and plantations producing cotton and other crops. The town was renamed Nauvoo after Joseph Smith's visit to Nauvoo, Illinois which took place in1844-45. Mauldin is located at 31°27′39″N 80°53′24″W (31.438333 N 80.953444 W). It has an elevation of only 0 feet (0 m). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2 square miles (4 km²), all of it land. The climate in this area is severely disturbed by heat waves that averaging over 105 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celsius) over several days or more; however, there are rare instances where temperatures exceed 130 degrees Fahrenheit (−11 degrees Celsius).
Mauldin was founded in 1770 by James and Eliza Mauldin. The town was named after their father, James Mauldin, who had settled in the area years earlier. The first post office was established in 1814. In 1865, the name of the town was changed to Myrtle Beach.
