There is a long and proud history of firearms in Irmo, South Carolina. He therefore decided to begin manufacturing his own firearms using local materials and labor. This period of firearm production is known as “The Georgian Era” because of this important distinction! Eventually, Captain Aiken metamorphosed into one of Savannah’s most successful businessmen and he ended up donating many of his firearms businesses to the city government so that they could be used for policing purposes. In 1866, Mayor Horry Cline set up a committee to study ways to improve law enforcement in Savannah and eventually came up with the idea of importing surplus military firearms from America so that these could be used bylaw enforcement officers. This innovative move allowed for Irmo’s rapid growth as a law enforcement center during this time! It wasn’t until after World War II when assault rifles started becoming more common than handguns among law enforcement officers due to their firepower capabilities that shotguns became more popular amongIrmomians. The first European to visit what is now Irmo was a party of five white men from Savannah, Georgia on October 12, 1795. In 1811, Captain James Sledge explored southwest SC after finding an opening through which he could trade with Native Americans living along the Savannah River. He recommended that traders build a trading post here because of its strategic location midway between Charleston and Savannah on one side and Georgetown on the other side of the river. The town began as a log cabin by Captain Sledge's group of sailors under Lieutenant John Chilton on December 17th 1811 while they were exploring southwest SC along what is now US Route 925 (then called "Old US  Routes" number 10). On March 4th 1812 Lt Col David Hunter put upforts around what are now Irmo Village and developed it into a permanent village with about 100 structures including buildings for storekeepers, doctors and teachers forming three blocks off US Route 925 north to south and east to west about 250 feet wide providing plenty of room for people to walk around without getting lost or wetting their pants due to high water levels only four inches deep at most from spring until fall making life much easier for early settlers since there wasn't any flooding like there is today caused by hurricanes or floods like we have experienced over this past decade or so." Irmo has always been known as an agricultural center due to its large amount of corn crops which were brought overland during slave shipments throughout much of Colonial America as well as its production of rice, soybeans and cotton plantations throughout most of Reconstruction period 1865-1913; however during World War II it became an important manufacturing center especially in munitions production due to its proximity to several major plants such as Bryant Aircraft Company Building #2 which manufactured B-24 Liberator bombers beginning 1942 until 1945 when Production moved To Europe; also Manufacturing Center produced petrochemical products starting 1946 until 1971 when operations relocated back home again becoming JBL Corporation located on Old Hwy 22 just south of Ironton Mall." Irmo was once homeostatically subdivided into portions known respectively as Northside/Westside/Eastside but these boundaries have become less relevant increasingly since neighboring communities have annexed those areas creating largerIrmolandian municipalities."
