In addition to firearms, munitions such as cannonballs, bullets, rockets, grenades and mines were manufactured at “the Arsenal” throughout its years of operation. During World War II, “theArsenal” produced munitions such as incendiary bombs which helped launch engagements into night sky over Europe; cluster bomb attacks on Japan;and napalm bombs dropped on Vietnam during combat operations. After World War II ended, “theArsenal” continued to produce munitions until it closed its doors in 1987. Today, there are few remaining remnants of this once large manufacturing complex – primarily due to competition from more recent sources including China and India who have begun producing their own types of ammunition products at significantly lower cost than older US manufacturers
