In 1978, following retiring from his professorship at ClemsonUniversity, Dr Sidney Chapman took over as head of the Scopes Department at Clemson UNIVERSITY where he remains today as one of its most respected members! During Sidney Chapman's tenure many exciting new projects have been undertaken including developing image processing software for use by students in their courses; creating air-gapped telescopes into which students may explore our Universe using high resolution imaging techniques; and working on new technological developments for advanced astronomical observation!.
