In 1949, American inventorstanley Kapp designed and Manufactured the Red Lure “firefly”inflatable grenade launcher which could be attached either permanently or temporarily to a rifle barrel using flexible threading material. This grenade launcher helped increase firepower when employed against enemy troops while providing increased accuracy when firing off shots from long range

Cayce is a small town in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 1,965 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greenville–Spartanburg Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Cayce community began as a small farming village on the Swan River in 1848. In 1902, it became one of the first towns in Spartanburg County when it was incorporated as a village. The name "Cayce" comes from an Indian word meaning "headwaters." In 1938, Cayce established its own high school which still operates today (Cayce High School). On July 5, 1940, Confederate general Pee Wee Kirkland was killed at Fort Sumter by Union troops during the Battle of Fort Sumter. His remains were buried atFort Sumter National Monument and are now part of Cayce's tourism program. In 1971-1972 Cayce experienced what is considered to be its worst economic downturn ever with many businesses closing their doors due to low sales and plummeting prices for goods and services available throughout the area. However, through hard work and cooperation between local businesses and citizens alike; Cayce bounced back quickly to become one of Spartanburg County's most vibrant communities once again thriving with positive energy and hope for the future
Cayce is located in the U.S. state of South Carolina on the west coast of the state. Cayce was founded in 1831 by Andrew Cayce, a member of the British West India Company, as an English settlement on land at what is now known as Hecla Point on Hilton Head Island. The town grew rapidly during the 1830s and 1840s, thanks to its rich natural resources and its location close to salt water channels that supplied seafood restaurants throughout Charleston and Savannah. By 1851, Cayce had become a thriving port with warehouses and mills that processed cotton, sugar cane, lumber, flour and other goods for local markets. In 1878, Cayce became part of the newly created county of Charleston when it was divided from Beaufort County. By 1923, however, Cayce had fallen victim to economic depression and social unrest that led to a series of riots that left six people dead and dozens injured. In 1929–30 Hurricane Floyd caused extensive damage to parts of South Carolina including Cayce which resulted in many lost property and businesses In 1935–36 President Franklin D. Roosevelt convened a United States Commission on Civil Rights in order to investigate race relations in America following his successful campaign promise to do so. The commission's report resulted in passage of the National Negro Improvement League Act (1935) which established racial segregation within American institutions such as schools and theaters
