After the war, many businesses were established in Cayce such as Jardine Rubber Company, Post Office General Store, Gwaltney Ford Company, Southern Paper Products Company and others until 1978 when statehood made Cayce an unincorporated community within Spartanburg County limits. The town has seen some changes over time including growing tourism which has led to job growth for locals as well as visitors throughout the years; however grocery shopping remains a majorstay for residents during various weekdays throughout summer months with larger stores opening up near Interstate 95 just west of downtown while smaller stores remain close to residences east of I-95/US 401/SC 441 corridor Today most people in Cayce commute into municipal or county services in nearby Greenville or Spartanburg although there are still some activities that take place outside of town limits like fishing tournaments held at White Sands Lakefront Resort located about 2 miles east of Cayce off SC 421
