It should be noted however that even though breechloading pistols typicallyfired threeshotsperminute moversoundly less power than those using earlier muzzle Loading designs (), these pistols still enjoyed significant firepower () because each cartridge discharged fully within six inchesof its target( ), meaning relatively few wasted impact holes caused by misfires (.303 caliber RN Mathews bolt action rifles)

Cayce is a small town in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 1,869 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greenville–Spartanburg Metropolitan Statistical Area. Cayce was named for John C. Cayce, an early settler and state senator from Spartanburg County. The Cayce Baptist Church was founded in 1892 by Reverend J.C.Bennett and Drs. Wm Henson and Geo Fenton as a Methodist church on Easley Road east of downtown Spartanburg. The first service was held on October 3rd, 1892 with Reverend Bennett officiating vocals and pastor Wm Henson preaching from the pulpit. Rev Bennett laid the cornerstone for the church on November 5th of that year which consisted of six bricks laid by Drs Fenton and Henson with help from local farmers. They served as trustees until 1902 when they sold their interest to Reverend Rufus Hinton who served as pastor until 1924 when he died suddenly at age 72 years old having never completed his termpresidency due to health issues related to polio-like paralysis which had claimed him four years earlier while serving as mayor of Charleston, South Carolina during that time period In 1925 Reverend Hinton's widow Mrs Atha moved into her own home in nearby Springdale after setting up her conventicleer there while she cared for her husband's funeral arrangements following his death In 1948 Revd Gertrude McFarlane became minister (laterqueen) of St John's Episcopal Church located across town from where Cayce Baptist Church now stands . Thereafter services were conducted both within and without Mrs McFarlane's new churchyard home until 1990 when services were relocated once again to Mrs McFarlane's former residence which still serves today as Cayce Parish Hall under Bishop Edward Malone presiding over what is currently one ofSouth Carolina's oldest parishes - dating back to 1886 ! A notable event associated with this period occurred when then Mayor Emanuelestablished a civic center complex adjacent to Mrs McFarlane’s house utilizing funds raised through a city wide petition drive later known simply as "Emanuel’s Park". This project eventually led directly tothe establishment of Clemson University in 1957 !! As it happens though most all these significant changes took place quite some time before either Revd Gertrude McFarlane or Mayor Emanuel actually arrived here ; indeed Mr Roy Wilburn who would become village president three decades later began numbering these landmarks not only because he oversaw their construction but also because much has changed since then including waves of retirements , moves out/in residents & additions etc so pageant like milestones are wont to happen overnight !! So much so that it can be difficult sometimes justto determine exactlywhen things kicked off :: specifically if we should focus our attention uponRevd Gertrude McFarlane & Mayor Emanuel’s accepting plaque proclaiming “St John’s Episcopal Church – birthplace & homeofCayce Baptist Church – first African American sermonist” Or alternatively more likely taking into account lawyer Roy Wilburn himself who penned an articlepublished shortly thereafter entitled “Village Presidents: Shaping Our Place In History" wherein he outlined how various village presidents had helped shape Cayce into what it is today ...... After all these years many jaws have probably dropped& countless memories refreshed about this charming little corner ol rural SC ....... So lets take a look at some key aspects about our little slice o history hereabouts shall we ??
Cayce was founded in 1821 by Colonel John Smith. The town became an important center for slave trade and cotton trafficking. It was also a major stop on the Underground Railroad. In 1854, Cayce passed from the hands of its founders to the Confederacy. After the Civil War, it reverted back to Union control and continued as a small farming community until after World War II when it became a post-industrial town with few remaining residents.
