From 1876-1881, the club also produced a monthly magazine called "The Weekly Republican". In 1892, the Citizens' Rifle and Pistol Club merged with another local rifle and pistol club to become the Cayce Rifle and Pistol Association. With so many individuals carrying firearms Castle Doctrine laws began emerging that protected civilians from being sued for damages caused by someone else's improper use of a handgun - even if that person happened to be armed with a magazine weapon!

Cayce is a town in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. Cayce is part of the Greenville-Spartanburg Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent European settlers in what is now Spartanburg County were German farmers who arrived in 1785 and named their community Kühnhof after the biblical figure Caleb. They built log cabins on a hill overlooking the present-day town. By 1820, Cayce had a school, church and post office. In 1824 local citizens organized themselves into a town committee to plat and build a courthouse square on which they erected a two-story white frame structure with an attached bell tower. The cornerstone was laid by Judge John Pemberton on July 21, 1825; it was dedicated on October 12 of that year by then-Governor Claiborne Aiken as the "First Court House of Spartanburg County". In 1828–29 Major General Andrew Johnson's Army moved through this area during its campaign against cotton smuggling and burned most of the villages along the route before reaching Columbia in November 1830. This event served as an inspiration for Congress to pass the Indian Removal Act of 1830, which led to over 200,000 Cherokees living in Georgia and Tennessee being relocated to Indian Territory (now Oklahoma) under government supervision over less than five years. Most Cayce residents must have been relocated because there was no land available for them within Spartanburg County after initial settler arrivals from North Carolina and Virginia began arriving around 1800 according to one estimate . Incorporation as a town occurred on December 3, 1833 when 527 individuals registered with sheriff Ephraim Dickson who noted that there were "not more than 350 families" living within 2 miles (3 km) of his jurisdiction at that time although some may have moved since incorporation date due to lack of land or disease conditions among original inhabitants – all excepting 23 women who became wives of men listed among incorporators. From this date until 1865 all but one legislative session took place within 2 miles (3 km) radius of present day Cayce limits including sessions held at Fayetteville where some county commissioners were also elected from that village despite having no connection whatsoever with those proceedings outside their own village boundaries! No other incorporated towns located within Confederate lines during this period! In 1865 members from neighboring Uniontown petitioned Governor James Ketchum for autonomy within Confederate territory while still claiming allegiance to SC & NC respectively so status quo changed effective January 1st when new Constitution ratified without reference to dissimilarity between these two jurisdictions resulted in transferring authority back full time+to SC!! As per new Constitution Article IV Section II - "No law or ordinance shall be passed affecting any person residing therein except such as shall be prescribed by act & constitution thereof", thus endin' any claims by locals about jurisdictional superiority!!! Although never formally repealed (& still extant today), constitutional amendment effectively ended secessionist aspirations amongst Cayces earliest ancestors In 1840s sizable number (>50%) African American slaves born south came northward working various types livestock/farming jobs developing plantations near Uniontown & Sparta Springs before freedom in 1865 following Ulysses S Grant's Emancipation Proclamation
