According to the 2010 census, there are 10,836 residents living in Aiken proper with 2% (133) being non-Hispanic white alone; 5% (236) being black or African American; 31% (1,521) being Hispanic or Latino; 8% (153) being Asian Pacific Islander; 1% (27) being Native American; and 4% (38) other race/ethnicity
