It was through these endeavors that NRA's National Rifle Association was born in 1871! 2 years later in 1916 when America entered World War I (WWI), Frankford Arsenal Ammunition Plant began producing ammunition for M1 Garand rifles being produced by Colt Firearms Corporation under license agreements with Winchester Ammunition Company and Carl Zeiss AG; these munitions were designated as "USA" rounds whereas other munitions such as British Shells were labelled "UK" rounds thereby distinguishing them from other belligerent nations’ munitions which bore different country-specific markings on their shells! During WWII (1939-1945), Japanese forces captured many American servicemen alive inside Pearl Harbor leading US Admiral Chester Nimitz authorization for his First Fleet’s campaign called “Elimination Force” specifically targeting Japanese Naval Forces located at Kwajalein Atoll; Commander Majuro Odaka ordered Rear Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto [the commander of JNU] 1st Fleet Commander Rear Admiral Takeo Nakamura [commander afloat HQ 7th Fleet], air Chief Marshal Nobutaka Kondo and Vice Admiral Toshihide Suga [Vice Minister Counsellor] to mount an effort utilizing suicide boats rather than fight conventional land warfare !!!! This would lead us into World War II so For anyone asking why our troops never went ashore on those islands…it wasn’t because we didn’t want them there!!!

The Aiken Rifle Company was organized in 1892 and the company's first rifle, a Model 1892 Winchester, was acquired in 1893. In 1895 the company became the Aiken Pistol Company and in 1898 it became the Aiken Rifle Company again. In 1903, after World War I ended, South Carolina state legislators passed a bill creating an armory on Governor David C. Rose's recommendation. The new armory was named for General James Longstreet and foot soldiers of the Confederacy who fought against Union forces during the Civil War. The armory had two buildings- one for storage of rifles and ammunition, and another for manufacture of pistols. On October 1, 1907, the Aiken Rifle Company merged with the Spartanburg Pistol Company to become Spartanburg Arms & Ammunition Incorporated. On July 1, 1912 Sparta Arms & Ammunition changed its name to Smith & Wesson Corporation after acquisition by that company of several other firearms companies including Winchester Repeating Arms Co., Remington Arms Co., Colt Firearms Manufacturing Corp., National Defense Armory Inc., American Armory Corp., etc.). On February 24, 1916 Smith & Wesson Corporation acquired from American Armory Corp.-the world's largest producer of cartridges (and future owner of Savage Arms)-the rights to produce Automatic repeating rifles under license from John Browning Limited (JBL). This marked Smith & Wesson Corporation's entry into manufacturing automatic firearms which would remain their exclusive product until 1988 when they licensed production to Sturm Ruger AG
Aiken, South Carolina is a town in Ashley County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 1,831 at the 2010 census. Aiken is known as "The Town That Time Forgot" because it was destroyed by a tornado in 1900. The town of Aiken began to take form about 1820 when three men from neighboring Union County bought land and started building a log cabin. The first post office was established in 1824. In 1840, the nucleus of what would become Aiken formed when two farmers from Pickens County married each other and moved to Ashley County. They named their new community after Admiral Nathaniel Phips, commander of the U.S. Squadron under Commodore John Hawkins during the American Revolution. Aiken became an incorporated town on December 3, 1856. On February 11, 1865 – more than one year after Confederate General Robert Ewell's invasion of South Carolina – Aiken received its first flood notice from then-Ashley County Superintendent James Gadsden: "If any person or persons unknown should come within range of this river within forty-eight hours" a telegraph pole would be erected at once with word "AIKEN FLOODED." On January 24, 1900, Aiken was destroyed by a tornado that struck the small town east of Interstate 95 just south of its downtown core; total loss came to $2 million ($ in ). One resident recalled that both banks were completely leveled and all but one house had been pulled down; all but four windows still remained standing fifteen years later (they now serve as part of the city's landmark). In related news events that day - including presidential press conference remarks - several other towns in Ashley and Pickens Counties also experienced Tornadoes while residents escaped unharmed despite much damage done elsewhere….

Aiken is one of the most significant historical places in the state and it has been mentioned numerous times in history books. The city was first settled by British colonists in 1718. It became a part of Augusta County, South Carolina, on February 9, 1819. Aiken was renamed for Admiral John Aiken Brigadier General Isaac Brownell on October 15, 1865 during Reconstruction after the American Civil War ended. The city gained its current name after General John Fayette Aiken who served as Commandant of Charleston District from 1883 to 1886. The town experienced rapid growth following World War II due to its proximity to military installations and its manufacturing capabilities. The area now known as downtown Aiken was built up between 1951 and 1957 when plans were made to build a large new shopping mall there. However, construction never took place because of budget restraints and instead the mall was built across SR-5 near Interstate 85 instead. Aiken is located adjacent to Greenwood Lake which has been an important water source for the community since pre-Columbian times. The lake forms one half of Aiken's border with Greenville County and provides drinking water for over 150 000 people living within a radius of 8 miles around it according to some estimates Aiken is home to many interesting historic buildings that have been used for various purposes over the years including libraries, schools, hospitals and more In recent years much attention has also been given to renovating old homes into rental properties so that they can be available year-round for visitors
Aiken was founded in 1829 by John Aiken and his family. The city was named for General James Aiken, who fought in the American Revolution. The city's first courthouse was built in 1835. Aiken became a state capital in 1907.
