This money was usedto build several sports complexes such Asbury Park Racquets Clubhouse Stadium (now Brown University), King's College Stadium (now Univision World Headquarters), and Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Company's Newport News shipyard on Narragansett Bay where four large aircraft carriers were built: Enterprise (later Nimitz), Decatur (later Ford) , Independence (laterCVN-74)and Yorktown(now USS Harry S Truman Museum). These projects helped create what is now knownas "The City Beautiful"REI shopping plaza across Benefit Ave from Brown Universitywas built between 1922-1924 followed by PNC Tower which stands today adjacent to URI On February 5th 1915 US President Woodrow Wilson delivered his address at Fenway Park marking America's entry into World War I; this event is also commonly referred to as "the inauguration." Immediately followingWilson's speech local businessmen formed a Committee on Industrial Development called "The Civic League" charged with creating jobs through promotionof industry After Wilson's visit several prominent citizens donated land near Fenway Park for future expansion including JV Sallee who donated 160 acres along Mass Ave north of Market Square NW In 1928 RI voters ratified General Laws chapter 607 setting up municipal courts with justices appointed by mayor subject onlyto court review by Common Council . Pawtucket, Rhode Island is a town in central Rhode Island on the south bank of Narragansett Bay. The population was 54,898 at the 2010 census. Pawtucket is one of the oldest towns in New England and its first permanent inhabitants were the tribe of Wampanoag Indians who called it Pocumquid meaning "place where the waves crash." The name may be derived from an Indian word meaning 'a point of land projecting into a body of water,' which would aptly describe Pawtucket's location on Narragansett Bay. Pawtucket became a separate incorporated town on July 1, 1868. Originally part of Warwick County, Pawtucket was separated because it had developed more rapidly than Warwick and other smaller towns in that county. On February 13, 1871, Pawtucket voters passed a resolution to become an independent city with its own mayor and council. This action marked the beginning of what would be an increasingly successful effort by Pawtucket residents to assert their own authority within their own municipality. In 1916, Pawtucket residents voted to annex part of Cranston – then considered one of Rhode Island's most sleepy villages – as well as several other nearby villages. This annexation created what is now Cranston Township and led to rapid growth in pawtown throughout World War I and subsequent years – although much remains uncertain about how exactly this occurred or even what actually happened; sources do mention references to "an agreement" between Providence Mayor John Day and representatives from neighboring municipalities after World War I but no definitive evidence has surfaced corroborating these claims On November 3rd 1957, during Hurricane Agnes, the remnants (and all-but-erased lowlands) of Hurricane Irma traveled through central Pawtucket just before landfall near modern day Central Falls - making this one of only two occasions during recorded history that hurricanes have crossed through such major metropolitan areas uneventfully . As a result both cities experienced significant damage with over 50% destroyed or damaged buildings . In addition over 2 million people were without power for extended periods as a result The recovery process quickly ensued with many businesses opening up early in order to capitalize on available resources; however there were also some serious long-term consequences including numerous lost jobs and homes . Many houses were either not rebuilt or replaced at all due to lack of materials or money – resulting in what has come to be known as "The Housing Disaster". It took nearly 10 years for normalcy to return followed by another period characterized by strong economic growth which saw many new construction projects launched Ferry Terminal reopened 150 years after its original completion!
