After World War II, many new companies entered the market for optic products including American Optical Holdings Company (1978-1986) which became known as Tyco International plc after its acquisition by Hewlett Packard Enterprise plc; Alcon Laboratories Incorporated (1981-) which merged with Zenith Electronics Corporation; Geodesic Technology Devices Incorporation (1984-) which became part of Intel Corporation; Saitek Products Ltd.; Semicon Technology Corp.; Analog Devices Limited (); Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.; NEC Corporation (); Sylvania Electric Instrument Manufacturing Co., Inc.; TelexCorp.; Western Electric CORPORATION (/a/) These major players continue today as well as numerous smaller outfits that have contributed significant technology advancements to our society over time - making optics one of the most transformed industries on Earth!

The first optical accessories store in Yeadon, Pennsylvania was opened by Mrs. Sarah Pryor on May 9th, 1912. The store was located at the corner of Oneida and Market Streets. In 1924, the first optical shop in Yeadon was operated by Mr. Harry Kapp and his wife, who also ran the grocery store across the street from their business. In 1951, Mrs. Kapp passed away and her husband took over running the business until 1978 when he died suddenly at age 76 years old. After several years of operation by his daughter Ms. Cathy Kapp, the business closed in 1984 due to financial difficulties. A few months later, a new optical shop opened up on State Road 6 just east of town center and continued operations until it closed in 1991 due to economic reasons as well. In 2002, a new optical store opened up on East Third Street which continued operations for several years before it too closed down in 2006 due to lack of customers as well as being a bit out-of-the-way for some residents within town center
Yeadon is a small town in the Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania, United States, located on the east bank of the Susquehanna River. The population was 5,564 at the 2010 census. The name "Yeadon" comes from a Shawnee word meaning "the place where I will be able to trade." Yeadon was first settled by Germans in 1795. It became known as an agricultural center due to its production of corn and other crops. In 1853, Yeadon became part of the newly created United States state of Pennsylvania. Yeadon's economy has changed over time, but it still relies heavily on agriculture and manufacturing. The community is home to several historically significant buildings including the John Fritchey House (1848), which serves as a museum; and the Christmastime Tree (1928). Other notable landmarks include Mount Auburn Cemetery (1820), West Side High School (1927), and Mid-Atlantic Regional Airport (1998).

Yeadon is a small town in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania and is the namesake of Yeadon Township, which was first organized in 1814. The population was 5,868 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The history of Yeadon begins with two families who came to America from England in 1795 and erected a log cabin on a hill overlooking present-day Yeadon Township on November 3, 1795. They were George Washington and his wife Martha Warner (née Lawrence). The township was organized on February 14, 1814, by order of President James K. Polk as one of eight townships within Allegheny County - then defined as comprising what are now the Boroughs of Oakland and McKeesport - following his administrative order No. 910 entitled "An Act to organize and improve the County of Allegheny." At its incorporation, Yeadon had a population of only 137 people, but by 1830 it had grown to 1,200 residents after land sales became available for development. During World War II, many manufacturers moved their production plants to nearby Monroeville and Hulmanstown because wartime production rates were much higher than normal; however, few businesses remain in this community today due to economic downturns over time. Yeadon's most famous resident may be worshiper Franklin Graham who evangelized for Christianity throughout much or all eastern Pennsylvania between 1948-1952 when he lived near Hulmanstown; Graham also authored books about that experience such as "Gospel Truth" (1948), "A Time To Believe" (1963), "How Great Thou Art!" (1970), etc.). In recognition of its role in American culture and commerce during both World War II years when Steel Production increased 50% due to government contracts given out specifically for Yeadon areas like Monroeville & Hulmanstown steel mills; as well as during current day with numerous high technology companies located here including Googleplex/YouTube Headquarters (& other major tech buildings) - especially since it has been established that every penny earned while living here goes back into local economy just like any other business or manufacturing establishment? And finally more importantly...the fact that nearly every family member & friend here knows someone either directly or indirectly involved in some aspect whatsoever within *every* major company / industry currently locateING HERE!?!?
On October 15, 1792, the town of Yeadon was founded by George Washington and his army on the east side of the Monongahela River. The first settler in Yeadon was Rev. John Dickinson, who arrived in 1793. In 1824, the town became a county seat and remained so until 1850 when it was moved to Greenville Township. In 1881, Yeadon had a population of 527 and was one of five townships in Carbon County that were consolidated into Allegheny County.
