Yeadon is a small town in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,021 at the 2010 census. Yeadon is located in Potter County. The first settler in what is now Yeadon was Nicholas Welsh, who arrived on horseback from Wales in 1798. He named his land "Morgantown" after Mount Morgantown, in Scotland. Welsh built a log cabin and began to plant crops near the present day intersection of Keystone Avenue and High Street in 1807. In 1815, Anthony Wayne founded the village of Wayne Township within Yeadon Township, which became part of Potter County when it was organized on July 1, 1821. In 1825, George Washington Woodward erected a frame house on what is now High Street for his family as their home until they moved to Gettysburg in 1828. A post office called Yeadon was established at this location on December 12, 1830, and remained in operation until it was discontinued by order of the US Postmaster General on November 15, 1865. The first store opened here about 1840 by Elias Howe with merchandise brought overland from Lancaster and Philadelphia via Yorktown Roads well before roads were extended through this area eastward into Pennsylvania Statehood. After Howe's store burned down around 1850 (probably arson), local residents built a new structure southeast of where he had stored his goods across Keystone Avenue from where it still stands today as the popular Eastgate Tavern & Grill restaurant chain traces its origins back to that building alone!

As of the 2010 census, the population of Yeadon was 3,927. The following are some facts about Yeadon: Yeadon was born on October 12th, 1799 to Colonel John Yeadon and his wife Sarah. colonel John had been appointed a Major General during the Revolutionary War and he moved his family to what is now known as Dunmore Township in Bucks County on December 21st, 1798. In 1801, Joseph Pennoyer purchased land here from Colonel John Yeadon for $1 million dollars. When hostilities ceased in 1815 between Great Britain and America, Captain Lafayette conveyed this tract including all present day Dunmore Township toJoseph Pennoyer for $10 thousand dollars with an understanding that it would remain free until divided among those who should purchase it from him within five years after its conveyance. In 1830 Captain Lafayette donated another three hundred acres south of present day Dunmore Township to form Westampton Township which still exists today as one of Pennsylvania's most populous townships. By 1830 there were over two hundred families living hereabouts and seventy five businesses were operating along Main Street alone! There were many early pioneers who settled in what is now called “The Townships” around this time such as George Washington Carver (1821-1896), Elias Howe (1793-1868), Solomon Northrup (1795-1853), James Kapp (1800-1875) etc., but it was not until 1828 when Captains Lafayette and Pennoyer donated additional land that we began to see our first churches erected; First Presbyterian Church built at 4th & Market Streets in 1830 and Second Presbyterian Church built at 5th & Market Streets in 1835 both being considered very important given their location within easy walking distance of each other! Many people experienced great wealth accumulation during these early days such as Captain Lafayette himself who amassed an immense amount of treasure while serving as American Minister to France during the 1840s! It should also be noted that much importantly throughout these pioneer days there WAS no electricity or running water available so life depended largely upon horse or cart transportation for most things! This posed a huge challenge for many people since they could not do anything without assistance! Even today some residents still rely heavily upon horse drawn carts for travel especially if they wish access to some basic amenities like water or power
