The history of guns in Williamsport, Pennsylvania dates back to the early 1800s. Firearms were used for hunting and protection from robbers and other criminals. In 1814, a blacksmith named Nicholas Wiseman built the first gun shop in Williamsport. The shop was situated on Main Street, just off of Market Street. Wiseman made rifles, shotguns, pistols and other firearms. He also furnished customers with barrels, stocks and handguns. By 1822, Nicholas Wiseman had two sons, John and Samuel Wiseman. John Wiseman served as the town's mayor from 1825 to 1830 and again from 1834 to 1840. Samuel Wiseman ran the business until his death in 1851. John Wiseman's son John Jr., renamed the business "Wisemen & Son" after his father's death. The store continued in operation until it closed in 1906. In 1795, William Smith founded a salt mine near Williamsport with fellow planters George Washington Carver and James Monnier. The mine produced salt that was used to flavor food and make candles during the Revolutionary War (1775-83). Afterward, Smith sold access to his mine to farmers who grew crops there whilestockpiling salt throughout the winter months for use during the summertime when fresh water couldn't be accessed; this practice continued until at least 1860 when government storage became available nearby for local residents without having to go out into open country where raiding gangs could pillage your goods! One of early settlers in Williamsport was Henry Nevin who arrived about 1800 from Kent County England aboard an English ship called "Queen Charlotte." Nevin operated a sawmill along with several other enterprises before landing property hereabouts on July 4th of 1792 which he conveyed by deed under consideration of ten pounds sterling payable “to Joseph Welch” – one of pioneer days earliest settler! One source says that Nevin met “John Doe” upon arrival but no record has been found documenting their first meeting or any connection between them thereafter…. In fact we know very little about what happened between these 2 individuals prior to their purchase of land adjacent to present day Main Street….. Likely they got along fine as long as they didn’t touch each others personal items or trade secrets….. This area now includes much of what is known as downtownWilliamsport….. After moving onto their new landHenryNevinandhis family engaged in many farming operations such as raising cattle (especially corn)… some hogs were reared……..We do not know how much pork he raised but I am sure it was significant since many people today still eat Hog Head Cheese!!!!! For those reasons aloneHenry Nevin deserves full credit for starting this wonderful community which we all enjoy today!

These signs indicate that something was recently trying to get into or out of this particular piece and caused some damage beyond just cosmetic wear and tear!

However, when the U.S. federal government bought land around Pittsburgh and its dependencies in 1802, they realized that there would be no need for another small town on the river since Pittsburgh would soon become an important center of commerce and culture. Accordingly, they reincorporated West Liberty Township into York County as part of that purchase. Williamsport grew slowly until 1825 when construction began on what is now known as Main Street (now State Avenue). This was one of the largest projects ever undertaken by William Penn's new state government and resulted in the creation of what is still one of America's most significant businesses: The Pennsylvania Railroad Company (PRR). With this development came increased economic opportunity for residents and much growth throughout the early 21st century; however, some recent issues have led to declining enrollment at local schools and concerns about environmental degradation from extensive industrialization over time. Despite these challenges, progress has been made over recent decades towards revitalization which should result in further growth over time - including a planned expansion into nearby Camden County with Phase II plans for an additional 1 million people!
