The Whitehall, Pennsylvania gun case history begins with the founding of the town in 1825. The first settlers in the area were Quakers who owned a small amount of land. In 1829, John French built a cabin on what is now Main Street in Whitehall. French was the first settler to own a gun and began shooting game from his cabin. In 1834, German immigrants founded the town and began purchasing land adjacent to Whitehall. One of these Germans, Peter Klemmert, purchased a farm on Brush Road. On July 1st, 1835, Klemmert's home was attacked by James McNaught who shot him three times in the stomach and left him for dead in front of his house. The locals) quickly gathered around McNaught and started begging him to stop as he continued firing at Klemmert. When McNaught couldn't find any more ammo he stopped and went back outside to grab some rocks before returning inside to finish off Klemmert.Klemmert survived but required surgery that kept him bedridden for months afterwards. After recovering from his injuries, Klemmert decided to sell his business assets in order to help finance his new venture-the First National Bank of Whitehall which opened its doors on November 10th, 1835]. One of the early bank directors was George Armstrong who also served as one of the trustees for Black Mountain School District No 2 (now Clarion-Muncie High School). Armstrong donated $5 000 towards construction of Black Mountain Church which located on what is now Northampton Street within Whitehall Township . Once completed, Black Mountain became one of the most important churches within Whitehall Township . In 1865 when Abraham Lincoln was elected President after winning an election against Andrew Johnson , many people including mayor John Fenton believe Lincoln may have been illegitimate due to HIS mother being white and Jonell Hargrave being black

The rest had been acquired through purchase or donation over time by various people involved with state government: commissioners George Stephenson and James Mifflin bought large tracts totaling 292 acres (12 hectares) including what is now parts of Porterfield Township in 1861; Judge William McKinney donated 122 acres (41 hectares) near Aspinwall Village northwest of present day WHite Hall; Colonel Augustus Biddle donated 107 acres (39 hectares), east side of Beaver Dam Creek northwest of Aspinwall Village to make way for what would become the state courthouse complex; Samuel Chase bought 95 acres (35 hectares), including most significantlypresent day WHite Hall from General Daniel Morgan during peace negotiations followingthe American Revolution On November 24th, 1886 United States Senator Jesse Jones became the first person to be born within miles wallsof Philadelphia when he came downriver from Harrisburg aboard "City Point" ferryboat while driving his horse 'Fanny' across Chestnut Street Bridge into city limits just south of South Side Road along Braddock Avenue - thus becoming onehalf mile inside Philadelphia proper! Two years later on February 11th 1888 United States Congressman Abram Hewitt walked 4 miles westwardfrom Philadelphia's Citylimitsonto Squirrel Hill Road whereuponhedeclared himselfa duly elected U S Senator! This event marks perhapsthe earliest recorded visit by anyone other than President Washington evertoPhiladelphia! In 1895 Representative A E Cummings proposed legislation authorizing constructionof a dam across Beaverdam Creek thereby creatingWHiteHall Reservoir largelycreditedtohim alone ! After Congress failed to pass this important measureduring 1896 & 1897respectivelyCongress authorizedfundingfor furtherdevelopmentofWRITEHALLREServoirratherthanbuildinganewDam! That sameyearCongressauthorizedpaymentforthewidowsofGeorge StephensonforherpartinpromotingpurchasingOFHOMEOWNERSHIPFORPARKSANDDOG PARKSINSIDEWHITEHALLSTRATEGY !! In 1902 President Theodore Roosevelt sentCommissioner Charles GoodeTo investigate issues surrounding water supplyonthePennsylvaniaislandcoastalarea adjacenttotheHouseOfWright!!!Goode reportedthatupperwatersofthesouthernAtlanticcoastlinewerenotufficienttodofficialdomesticuse!! On October 3rd 1908 Congress passed an act amending laws affecting real estate transactionswithinPittsburghmetroplex!! Thisactprovidedforone Hundredpercentresidencetaxonallresidentialrealestate transactionsover$50000!!!ThiswasprobablythelargestsingleactioninthedevelopmentofUpperMidwesternAmerica)! By 1915WhiteshallschoolDistricthadreachedten thousand pupils (!), makingitpossiblythesecondlargest school districtinUnitedStatesafterNewYorkCitySchool District ! However local farmers continued to grow cropsand build houses without avail until black Americans began arrivingsteadily throughoutamericalate nineteenth century seeking opportunity and freedom

Whitehall is a small town in Berks County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,614 at the 2010 census. Whitehall has been called "the little engine that could" because of its high school football team's success. The first people to live in what is now Whitehall were Dutch settlers who arrived in 1681. They built a log cabin and named it "Willemstadt". A survey by Captain Anthony Wayne in 1728 counted ninety five families living there then and it remained an agricultural community until after World War II when industry began to grow there. In 1957, white coal miners from nearby Honesdale left their families behind and moved into Whitehall as well, initiating a change in demographics which continues today with more people working in the market economy than farming or manufacturing. The post office was established at Whitehall on February 12, 1824, under the name of Wilkinsburg; it became known as Whitehall after General George Washington visited the town during his 1799 visit to Pennsylvania. The first store opened there on October 15, 1827; local agriculture continued to be dominant until around 1920 when larger industries such as textiles and munitions began arriving followed by retail development over ensuing years which has led to increased services businesses within Whitehall while still maintaining much of its rural character including two churches (one Congregational) – one founded in 1854 and one erected following a donation by Mrs. Anna Cuthbert Chafee – both listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). In 1955, when Westinghouse Electric Company merged with GEICO Company for $52 million creating Energy Corporation of America (ECA), many jobs were created within ECA’s headquarters located along High Street just outside present day Whitehall limits where workers mingled with customers before getting down to work assembling electric transformers that would power some 2 million homes across North America during those early days of electronic appliances being introduced into homes everywhere! Most recently home builders have taken hold again within Whitehall making this once isolated community one full service town dealing with all aspects from buying/selling property up front through maintenance/repair needs along with groceries/canned goods/transportation options all catered specifically to meet individual needs typically resulting in less congestion downtown areas due primarily thereto!
