Laser sights first became popular in the United States in the early 1970s. At that time, laser rangefinding technology was new and had not yet been perfected. Laser sights were originally designed to be used with pistols, rifles, and shotguns, but over time they have become more common for handguns as well. The development of lasersights began with a project called “Aperture” which was conducted at the University of California at Berkeley in the late 1960s. The purpose of this project was to develop a means to track targets using light from an object inside an aperture (i.e., a hole in a target). The results of this project led to the invention of laserscopes which could be used for target sighting. In 1972, patents were filed for what would eventually become known as laser sights – a system that uses light from an object outside an aperture to guide projectiles through an opening into which it is inserted (a gun sight). Laser sights quickly became popular due to their convenience and ease of use. They are now available on many different types of firearms including handguns, rifles, shotguns, and sniper rifles. Some people argue that laser sights should only be used on guns that can be sighted accurately with them; however, there is no doubt that they are one of the most useful features on modern firearms!

West Mifflin, Pennsylvania is a small town in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 7,643 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. West Mifflin was established in 1765 by pioneers who had moved from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to what is now western Susquehanna County and eastern Monroe County in what is now central Pennsylvania. The first permanent settler in what would become West Mifflin Township was Philip Pickens who arrived on December 12, 1765. He and his family were the first white people to live in the township. In 1800, John Swartzentruber bought 1/2 acre (0.14 km²) of land in present-day West Mifflin Township from Nicholas Pigott for $5 per acre ($13 at then). The following year he sold another tract totaling 3/4 acres (1 ha) to George Washington for $10 per acre ($26 at then). In 1811, Isaac Saylor purchased land from John Dennison for $10 per acre ($26 at then). Just one year later he sold it to James Hogg for $15 per acre ($41 at then). By 1817 all but 2 acres (8 ha) of this land had beenSold including that which would be located within present-day South Park Elementary School boundaries. In 1820 Michael Perry purchased 3/4 acres (1 ha) of land from James Hogg for $25 peracre($76 atthen). This property would become Perry’s home farmstead until his death in 1865. That same year Andrew MacLennan also acquired 3/4 acres (1 ha) of land from Michael Perry for $25 peracre($76 atthen), which he would later sell to Abraham Lincoln for $40 peracre($96 atthen). Not long after these purchases MacLennan built a log cabin on this property which became known as “MacLennan’s Cabin” or simply “MacLennan’s Farm” and remained into private hands until 1946 when it was donated to South Park Elementary School by its current owner Mr./Ms../Dr./Mr./Mrs./Ms.- Harold Ritterling Sr., Jr.. The date inscribed on the Property License says: November 21st 1821 AD - This Land came into my possession through purchase by me Abram Lincoln Jr.. From thenceforward it has been used as our Primary Education facility.. After years of use by various schools various alterations have been made including enlargement and addition of classrooms currently housing 9th grade students... When we took over ownership we realized how much potential this structure possessed so we decidedto preserve and keep all original features while making necessary improvements

West Mifflin Township was established in 1795, and was named for the British town of Mifflin. The township's first government was a meeting house and square, which it continued to use until 1812 when it became a courthouse. In 1814, the Township added eleven acres of land to its boundaries, and in 1830 became the borough of West Mifflin. In 1835, the Borough merged into the Township. The town of West Mifflin grew rapidly during the late 19th century due to its location at the junction of two major railroads and its natural resources: coal, iron ore, logging roads, and water supplies. By 1900 there were over 1,500 residents in West Mifflin and it had a manufacturing base including breweries such as Pabst Brewing Company and Anheuser-Busch Brewery. The town prospered through World War I with sales from munitions factories increasing by 50%. However, following World War II West Mifflin lost much of its manufacturing output as production shifted to new plants abroad. However, local businesses have since recovered with some returning back to their former glory; most prominently Pabst Brewing Company which has been led by founder Adolphus Busch since 1978. TodayWestMifflin is an unremarkable bedroom community that retains only a few faint traces of its past: The old courthouse still stands on Market Street (which still bears its original name), while other buildings from earlier times include an opera house on North streetside that once housed grand operas from around Europe (now used as office space). Despite this lack of significant history or legacy however, many people here believe that their community has some unique features worth preserving – like their rich sense of pioneer culture which can be seen in how they celebrate Frontier Days each year (a commemoration of the towns early growth) or how they continue to cling stubbornly to traditional Pennsylvania Dutch values even as everyday life changes all around them (such as being one of just three municipalities in Pennsylvania left carrying full compliance with Prohibition).
West Mifflin was founded in 1740 by John Forbes. The town was named after the creek that ran through it. West Mifflin grew quickly and by 1800, the population had increased to over 2,000. In 1836, the United States Congress passed a bill forbidding slavery in the new country and West Mifflin became an abolitionist community. In 1863, during the American Civil War, Unionists forces burned down part of West Mifflin while supplies were being unloaded on the docks. This event is often considered to be one of the most destructive moments in town's history.
