This firearm helped change history because it allowed farmers to hunt large animals such as deer rather than just small ones like rabbits or squirrels. In 1836, Nathaniel Lyon patented a new kind of rifle called the “carbine” that helped change warfare for good. Carbines were able to shoot projectiles that traveled far beyond what handguns could do and they also had longer barrels than handguns did at that time. This gave carbines an edge over handguns in terms of firepower when it came time for combatants to face off against each other in battle field

West Mifflin, Pennsylvania is a town in Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 9,852 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Butler County. West Mifflin is located on the edge of the Upper Lehigh Valley and borders both counties to the north and west. To the east is Bucks County and to the south are Loudoun and Lebanon Counties. The first settlement in what would become West Mifflin was made by German immigrants in 1798. The name "Mifflin" was derived from a family name that had been granted land in this area by James Kapp of Philadelphia in 1793. In 1815, John Fitzpatrick purchased 640 acres (2 km²) northeast of present-day West Mifflin from Nicholas Simons for $500 cash; Fitzpatrick donated all or part of his holdings to build a courthouse and schoolhouse thereon. That same year, Pittston Township was organized under Pennsylvania law, but it would not be until 1830 that West Mifflin became its own township within Butler County when it voted to secede from Pittston Township over an issue regarding voting rights for black residents. In 1844, when much of southeastern Butler County were acquired by Washington Territory as part of the Texas Annexation Treaty, parts of what would become West Mifflin Township were included within Dallas Township because Dallas Townsite had been surveyed first by George Rogers Clark during his survey work for Congress near Willow Grove on November 24th, 1843 - three days after Texas became a state! As development occurred along Uptown Boulevard which ran through much of what later became known as DowntownWestMifflin (DOW), many small businesses took form - some still extant today including Beasley's Hardware & Grocery which remains one of downtown's oldest businesses; Ritchey's Barbecue which moved into its current building on Third Street in 1964; Wernick's Candy Store started out as Grote's grocery store before becoming Southwest Pennsylvanian Dairy Products Co.; finally Pfeffer & Sons Jewelers opened their doors on Broad Street in 1922 just steps from where we now stand! West Mifflin, Pennsylvania was founded in 1790 by George Washington and his father, Nicholas. The town was named after General James Wolfe's defeat at the Battle of Yorktown in 1781. In 1867, West Mifflin became a city. Today, West Mifflin is a bedroom community for Pittsburgh. The population of West Mifflin was estimated to be over 106,000 as of 2010. The first settlers in what is now West Mifflin were three brothers: John, Ebenezer and Samuel Morse. They arrived on horseback from Hartford Connecticut on July 4th, 1790 and set up shop at the mouth of the Monongahela River. From their small farm they grew vegetables and raised chickens until 1800 when they built a log cabin known as "Morse House". The family spent their winters living near the river where they could fish and dock their boat for passage home during the summertime. In 1807 John Morse married Rebecca Smallington and started a family with her; railroad entrepreneur Isaac Noyes also married into the Morse family soon afterward. In 1827 William Pitts bought all of Beaver County from Nicholas Cooke for $5,000 cash; Pitts named his new county after himself (Westmoreland County). At this time Pennsylvanian farmers had few other choices but to grow corn or wheat because there was no other industry available on the continent that could provide them with a good return on their investment. Over time many mills came to be located aroundPittsburgh including those operated by Andrew Carnegie (1835-1914) and John Denny (1837-1920). It wasn't until 1861 when anthracite coal mining began operations in earnest that demand for goods made from these resources led to increased manufacturing in Easton Township which bordered Westmoreland County to its eastward extent just outside of present day Pittsburgh limits! By 1876 most residents of Patton Township along Beaver Creek had moved out and taken up residence within what are now Squirrel Hill neighborhoods situated adjacent to modern day Mellon Stadium/PNC Park area! All told about 12 miles long & 6 miles widenutrient rich coal seams were discovered within 5 miles of where today's downtown Pittsburgh stands! Coal Mining Operations continued unabated throughout World War I due largely to an unavailability of substitutes such as oil which would become available during wartime production shortages
The town of West Mifflin was founded in 1734 by the Welsh immigrants. The town's name comes from the Welsh word for "Mifflin", meaning a small stream. After a period of growth and development, the population of West Mifflin plummeted in the late 1800s as manufacturing went out of business.
