West Mifflin is a small town located in Pennsylvania. It is home to the famous West Mifflin Paper Company, which was founded in 1795. The company has produced many successful products, including paper, books, and other materials. Today, the company employs over 1,000 people and continues to thrive. The town of West Mifflin was first settled in the early eighteenth century by farmers from New Jersey and Delaware. In 1814, settlers moved into what is now the town of West Mifflin Township and established a post office. The first school in the town was built in 1827. In 1829, West Mifflin became an incorporated municipality. In 1865, the paper company was bought by James Stillman and his son John Stillman Jr. The brothers continued to run the business until their death in 1933. After they died, their children took over management of the company until it was purchased by J P Morgan in 1936. That year, Morgan merged it with its rival McCarran Paper Company to form Harriman-Morgan Paper Company Incorporated (HMP). The Harriman-Morgan Paper Company operated as HMP until 1984 when it reverted back to its original name of WestMifflinPaperCompanyIncorporated (WPMC). WPMC continue production of high quality paper products until 2006 when they were acquired by Dow Chemical Co., Ltd.. Dow Chemical Co., Ltd.(DOW) continued production until 2012 when they were sold to another large chemical firm—Chlorine bleach producerGeneral Electric Co.—making WPMC one of only two companies still manufacturing chlorine bleach products worldwide apart from Procter & Gamble Co., Inc.(PGY) which stopped producing them in 2009 after 54 years on the market Today WPML continues produce some high quality papers such as binders for magazines and brochures but also produces low cost papers such as those used at Walmart which are known for being cheap but poor quality due to their use of cheap recycled materials

West Mifflin Township was laid out in 1814, and became part of the United States in 1790. It is named for Captain James West, a British soldier who helpedFounding Father George Washington capture Yorktown during the American Revolution. The township was organized on April 1, 1814. The village of West Mifflin began to form in the 1840s as a result of an increase in trade between Pennsylvania and Maryland due to the development of the Erie Canal. By 1860, there were 279 people living in West Mifflin and its surrounds. In 1868, the first school opened in what is now known as Grandview Elementary School. That year saw also another significant milestone when a railroad was built through town connecting it with Bethlehem and Harrisburg. In 1916, World War I began and by 1918 had ended with over 60% of the residents dead or missing from East Germany because of war-related conflict alone. As a result, many businesses closed down throughout that year; however, some did manage to reopen including Mr. & Mrs.'s grocery store which reopened after being destroyed by fire two years earlier In 1938, West Mifflin' first water tower was erected along with other infrastructure improvements that would continue until 1984 when all but one water tower were retired following advances in technology During this time period too there were many changes taking place both within the community itself as well as across eastern Pennsylvania generally including rural consolidation into larger towns while smaller municipalities grew rapidly ; these trends are still continuing today .
West Mifflin was founded in 1795 by James Smith and his family. The area that is now West Mifflin was part of Lancaster County until 1800, when it became part of the newly created Pennsylvania Colony. In 1814, the United States acquired this area from Lancaster County and named it for General George Washington. The first settler in what is now West Mifflin was John Fitzpatrick, who arrived in 1795. He built a small cabin on the bank of the Susquehanna River. By 1800, Fitzpatrick had a larger home and several barns and outbuildings north of present-day Easton Road. In 1814, Fitzpatrick sold his land to Captain John Pitkin for $1,000 cash. Pitkin erected a small log house on what is now North Bridge Street near present-day Easton Road. In 1825, Captain Nathaniel Greene purchased some additional land from Fitzpatrick along present-day North Bridge Street and built a simple frame house thereon known as Greene House No. 1. Greene House No. 2 was also constructed soon thereafter but never used due to its Poorly Built condition; it remains standing today at 1194 North Bridge Street between Easton Road and Perry Avenue (now Perry Avenue Elementary School). John Dickinson College (later Penn State) began operations in 1850 on lands east of where Greene House No 2 stood; Dickinson College's first building, an old schoolhouse on the west side of Greene House No 2 between Easton Road and Perry Avenue (now Perry Avenue Elementary School), was completed in 1851/2 according to records kept by the Pennsylvania Board of Education at that time. The college moved into its current location across from Central High School (then called Eastern High School) on South Second Street in 1893/4 following construction of First Campus Center including Noble Hall which served as both our Administration Building and classrooms until 1978 when those buildings were demolished to make way for First Campus Drive which currently houses many different businesses including Penn State's Law Schools as well as residences for students attending those schools which are within walking distance from each other although most operations are conducted via email these days...
