During the early 1800s, many German immigrants immigrated to what is now Pennsylvania and began settling in what are now Easton and North Manchester townships west of Philadelphia. These Germans built homes on land that they leased from Native Americans or bought from them. As time passed and these immigrants assimilated into American society, they began using their new surroundings to parcel out property into lots large enough for individual farms or villages to form. This process is known as subdivision because property owners would subdivide their land into smaller parcels until it could support a single farm or village). One such village formed near where today's Reading Terminal Station stands – Fishkill Township – during this period of subdivision development around 1800-1800 BC (Becker et al., 1978). Eventually, this village developed into what is now known as Fishkill Township proper; however, some evidence indicates that it may have been named after an earlier German settlement (Goudreau & Ziegler 1955). A second Village formed near where Reading Terminal Station stands – North Manchester – during this period of subdivision development around 1800-1800 BC (Becker et al., 1978). Eventually this village developed into what is now known as North Manchester Borough; however, some evidence indicates that it may have been named after an earlier German settlement (Goudreau & Ziegler 1955). Finally, during the late 19th century there were several other villages established within present day Philadelphia County; but no evidence exists linking any particular one village with either fishkill township or northManchester borough . It should be noted that these villages were not necessarily created equal terms; for example, North Manchester Borough may have originated much earlier than Fishkill Township did while Easton may have been established later still than both North Manchesterborough and Fishkill Township . Consequently, while all three villages are typically given recognized historical status by historians today - based upon their existence at various points within pre-state Pennsylvania - there is no direct connection between any specificvillage andFishkilltownship/northManchesterborough

The town of West Mifflin was founded in 1795 by the convergence of two streams, the Susquehanna and the Monongahela. The first settlers were farmers who arrived from Pennsylvania and Maryland. Over time, West Mifflin grew to become a small farming community with a population of around 200. In 1824, the Township of West Mifflin was organized into a civil township.
