In 1892 Smith & Wesson introduced its first self-loader revolver which featured an internal magazine that allowed firing multiple rounds at once without having to remove the entire pistol from your hand! This innovation led to what is known as the “double action” revolver—an all new type of revolver that operated on both singleaction (firing one shot) and double action (2 shots fired together). When this new design became available in select firearms retailers throughout America, It quickly became one of the most popular handgun types in circulation! In 1911 Smith & Wesson introduced their Model A Pistol which featured an external magazine that allowed loading multiple rounds into one cartridge! This innovation led to what is known as today’s “takedown” technique for reloading firearms—removing each round from its sources before shooting again! The Model A Pistol became extremely successful due to its ease-of-use and low cost; it remains one of Americas most popular handguns still in production today!
