Uniontown, PA is a small town located in the eastern part of the state of Pennsylvania. The population was 1,868 at the 2000 census. Uniontown is one of nine towns in Butler County and it is bordered by Clearfield to the north, Latrobe to the east, Mifflinburg to the south, and Armstrong County to the west. The name "Uniontown" comes from two settlements: Union Township (founded 1795) and Union Hill (1798). The first gun magazine in Uniontown was opened in 1838 by Mr. Edward Tilton. He built a store on Main Street and operated it until 1840 when he sold his business to Captain John Rodgers. In 1847 Captain Rodgers organized what would become known as "the Riflemen's Club" which met at his home on High Street. In 1860 Captain Rodgers moved his club to what is now First United Methodist Church on Market Square. By 1865 there were 10gun magazines operating in Uniontown with a total production of over 6,000 pistols and rifles per year. In 1871 Colonel Samuel Prentice organized "The Volunteer Cavalry Company" which served as an armory for training cavalry officers for war service against Native Americans. This company also manufactured firearms and ammunition for use by this militia force. Colonel Prentice also formed a second rifle company called "The Mounted Rifles". This unit served as an armory for training horse troopers for war service against Native Americans but never actually engaged in combat due to their lack of weaponry In 1892 Union Township passed an ordinance establishing zoning requirements that limited handguns sales within cluttered subdivisions near train tracks owned or leased by local landlords This ordinance effectively ended pistol production within this town because handguns could only be purchased from licensed dealers who resided outside of Union Township In 1925 both companies that had been organized into separate organizations merged into one organization under the leadership of Colonel William Acheson who became its president Under Acheson's direction, "The Riflemen's Club" evolved into modern day "The National Firearms Association". NFA has since continued operations within Butler County while still maintaining its arms manufacturing capabilities while working collaboratively with other organizations such as law enforcement agencies and military units

During this time period there was also a huge increase in production due to advances in technology as well as available resources. In 1942, Colt's Manufacturing Company introduced an 8-round magazine for their Subsonic pistol which became popular among police officers and other law enforcement professionals who needed quick access to multiple rounds without having to reload each time they fired a round. Box magazines such as these continued becoming popular until they were replaced by 9mm semi-automatic handguns around 1990s

The first people to come to Uniontown were German settlers who started trading with the Indians in 1795. By 1800, there were about 125 residents in Uniontown and 18 families had land grants from the legislature. The first school was built in 1802 and then an academy followed in 1812. In 1830, a canal was built through town and it became an important trade center for goods brought down the canal by riverboat. In 1848, when western Pennsylvania was divided between Ohio and Indiana as part of the Compromise of 1850, Uniontown remained within Cambria County and lost its status as a township but continued to be known as "Uniontown". In 1861, when Cambria County became Pennsylvanian territory following the American Civil War, Uniontown regained its status as a township while also gainin its present name of "Unionville". From 1941 until 1959 it was part of York-Hanover Township. After World War II ended, many Germans moved away from Uniontown because they could find better opportunities in other areas of Pennsylvania or West Virginia. Many Irish immigrants also left after their country's partition into Northern Ireland and Ireland proper during World War II; however, most Irish Americans returned to UnionTown once peace restored order back home (the community did not have anyurbuilding permits). In recent years there has been a slow exodus of many Italian-Americans who continue living near Pittsburgh due to good job opportunities available there particularly for skilled labor sectors such as construction and agriculture - alluding to Italy's strong presence throughout much of Northeastern Pennsylvania especially in Steel City (the largest city within Allegheny County) which continues today with large Italian-American populations concentrated along East Liberty Avenue just eastside of downtown (and extending towards South Side Village), although this concentration has slowly begun waning over time; nonetheless some smaller businesses still operate out of these strongholds across various industrial parks located throughout central/western parts Allegheny County which remain one major economic driver for those portions thereof despite continuing low poverty rates among Italians residing therein

Uniontown was founded in 1795 by John and Deborah Sprague. The Spragues were the first white residents of the town. Uniontown was a small town until it became a community in 1848. In 1870, Uniontown had a population of 408 people. It increased to 1,291 people by 1880. After World War II, Uniontown lost its agricultural industry and declined in population. However, it has since regained some of its former prominence as an educational center and business district.
