In 1903, the first electric light bulb was lit in what is now St. Marys, Pennsylvania. The company that manufactured the bulbs was called "Fresno Electric Light Company."
St. Marys, Pennsylvania (formerly called Westmoreland) is a small town in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It is located in Lackawanna County, on the eastern bank of the Susquehanna River. The population was 2,564 at the 2010 census. The settlement was first established in 1795 by a group of Irish Catholic farmers and traders who removed to what is now St. Marys from their original land near Philadelphia. The first known pastor in St. Marys was Father John Walsh, who served from 1800 to 1803. In 1825, Father James Sheehan founded another parish in St.Marys which became known as Christ Church Parish until it lost its church status in 1907 and reverted back to Irish Catholicism under Bishop Michael J sheehan's jurisdiction*. Today, many people of all denominations live and work here.* In 1830, Captain John Sullivan built a cabin on the present site of Community Hall which he used as his home for several years before moving into his more permanent structure on Main Street later that year* (*See photograph below). In 1835-36*, Captain John Sullivan's son Isaac built a grist mill on what is now Front Street which became one of the early commercial enterprises in this community (see Excelsior Directory for 1840*) [*See photograph below]. By 1860*, most residents were agriculturalists with some manufacturing ** (*See photographs below), but heavy industry did not come until after World War II when river transportation became available† *. The post office at St.Marys was established on October 1st, 1865†(* See photograph below). Little has changed about this small corner post office since then* [*See photographsbelow] other than name change to reflect current situation with no corresponding change within community * (*Although there have been recent updates - see website for latest information*) . Today, much of what makes up old downtown Saint Marys has been preserved or restored as part of various historical programs sponsored by various organizations including: Historic Saint Marys Foundation; Lackawanna County Historical Society; Westmoreland Heritage Museum; and Friends Of Old Lancaster Courthouse & Village Museum – all located within walking distance from school district offices** (* See diagram above *) . Residents enjoy excellent access to local shopping opportunities through numerous independent businesses along Main Street including CVS Pharmacy (just east of downtown), Wegmans Food Market (just northwest of downtown), WalMart Supercenter (& adjacent Walmart store), Target Corporation (west side mall), BJ's Wholesale Club & Sam's Club (south side mall) and Kroger grocery stores‡(* ). There are also several parks such as White Sands Park just south of town center across from high school where picnics are also common throughout summer months** *. All told, there are over 20 miles worth of trails that wander through these beautiful townsite.* [* See map attached *for more information]

This invention called the Tesla microscope was revolutionary because it allowed users to view objects at one thousandth of their size! Although some technological advancements have been made in the field of optical accessories since then, these devices usually only offer increased magnification compared to what is available using simpler methods such as eyeglasses or sunglasses. Some notable examples include the development of digital photography in the early 1900s and Laser pointers today which offer even greater magnification capabilities than traditional eye tools!

Saint Marys is one of the oldest towns in Lehigh Valley and has been around since 1795. It was named for the virgin Mary whopherds found their way to Bethlehem during Jesus' birth process. The town had a population of just over 2,000 people by 1900 but it grew rapidly after that due to its location and its role as a hub for trade between EasternPennsylvania and New York City. In 1948, St.Marys became an independent city and continues to thrive today as a vibrant community with strong cultural ties to both East and West Philadelphia. The industry that made St.Marys so successful in the early 20th century included manufacturing such as textiles, shoe leather, paper products, printing presses, automobiles and other transportation equipment; however, this prosperity didn't last long after World War II when competition from cheaper imports began to take hold; until recently little manufacturing took place outside of basic agricultural supplies such as cornmeal or flour because these goods are more easily transported on Interstate 95 than older industries like textiles or shoe leather which require road access and slowdowns on I-95 southbound during rush hours. Today's economy relies heavily upon tourism which has helped spur growth in restaurant businesses (particularly Italian), civil engineering (such as building new roads) and medical care providers including urgent care centers (which have seen significant growth thanks to rising awareness about health conditions). Despite these advances there have been some setbacks too: many businesses closed during economic downturns while others struggled with acquisitions or closures within their own industries; nonetheless overall there are indications that St.Marys will continue growing throughout the coming years while maintain its close relationship with both East Philadelphiaand West Philly
The first settlers in St. Marys Township, Pennsylvania were the Jacobites who arrived in 1730. The second group of settlers was the Dunlap family who came in 1744. The third group was the Brownells who arrived in 1749. The fourth group was the Baird family who came in 1763.
