He began developing what would become known as Sanger Ranch which stretched for over 100 miles (160 km²) along both banks of the Susquehanna River between Chambersburg and Altoona; Today Sangers Farm remains one of Pennsylvania's most important agricultural properties with over 2 million acres (81 thousand hectares) under cultivation across 5 states including 20 thousand acres (80 thousand hectares)in Huntingdon County alone!
