Grant ordered his army to cross the river and attack Pottstown. The townspeople fought valiantly against overwhelming odds, but they were eventually overwhelmed and burned alive by Union forces. This event is still celebrated annually as an anniversary celebration throughout the community. 2) TheBattle of Monmouth Junction: On February 14th, 1862, two days after President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in Washington D.C., Confederate General Robert Eustis issued an order called "An Address to His Majesties Troops." This document proposed a plan to ambush and massacre Northern travelers on their way between Philadelphia and Baltimore through Monmouth Junction (now West Chester). Over 400 people were killed in this incident, which is still regarded as one of the bloodiest confrontations between Confederate and Union troops ever fought. 3)The Gunfight at Beaver Dam Creek: On December 5th, 1873, three men - John Wesley Hardin*, Jesse James*, and George Hinton - decided to rob a stagecoach stop at Beaver Dam Creek near Pittsburgh Virgil Goodrich*. Three hours later, they were suddenly attacked by 10 armed men from nearby Clearfield Township* (*Pottstown today). After exchanging gunfire for almost two hours until both sides ran out of ammunition (the men had only carried six rounds each), Hardin(*and James*) emerged victorious with four bullets left in him.* (*This story is also known as "The Gunfight at Pine Gap"). Immediately afterwards both sides claimed responsibility for what happened - the Confederacy said that three innocent people got lost in the woods while trying to take possession of a rifle they had seen; while the Union said that three bandits took advantage of their situation (without any real evidence).

This building still stands today and serves as a museum today about Smith's life and work in America during that time period. In 1848, Congress passed an act authorizing the erection of a post office in Carbon County. The name "Pottstown" was chosen for its similarity to Pottsville, which was then the capital of Wharton County (now Delaware). On November 25th, 1851, Pottstown's first post office opened with Wm Hagerty as receiver and David Brown as mailer. That same year saw another important event when Abraham Lincoln became President of America after defeating Andrew Johnson in an election fought mostly on Northern soil.. In 1865 local resident George Washington offered his home for use as Headquarters for Union forces during the American Civil War; it later became known as Confederate Headquarters due to its importance during that conflict.. One interesting fact about Pottstown during these years include that not only did it have no telephone service until 1892 but also none of the standard types of streetlights until 1907! During World War II many people from throughout Pennsylvania came into town to enlist in various military services including Air Force pilots and Marines…the mainstreet near where North High School now stands served as an air raid shelter during both world wars! After Pearl Harbor happened on December 7th 1941 our town went into lockdown mode due to fear of Japanese attack! Many stores closed up shop while many residents took refuge inside their homes! Over 100 buildings were destroyed or damaged by fire….this included much old fashioned architecture like The General Store which stood untouched until recent days!

This particular case also has several key features: firstly, Lennon survived; secondly, this was not simply an act of random violence; thirdly, there were multiple witnesses who saw what happened; fourthly, even though Beatles music dominated popular culture at the time (and likely still does), this attack signified a major change in security techniques which allowed more violent crimes like assassination attempts to occur
