In 1757, John Welsh founded what would become known as Pottstown with 12 other colonists from Wales on lands he purchased from Indian chiefs near present-day Easton Township. settlement increased rapidly due to favorable soil conditions and Welsh's entrepreneurial skills as a developer – he built roads and buildings hereabouts well into the 19th century while constantly expanding his holdings until eventually becoming one of the most successful landowners in this region. On November 15th 1797 an act were passed by Province of Great Britain authorising direct investment within colonies for those residing within 100 miles radius for development purposes only without any obligation to join or support any particular company or society! This act created quite a stir among many frontier investors as it offered them vast opportunities for profits without having to concern themselves with anything but making money! With this development came great expectations for whatever enterprise may be erected here! Many farmers took advantage of this opportunity and commenced building roads and erecting buildings such as stores/ warehouses etc., soon establishing themselves as some of southern Pennsylvania’s leading commercialists! Soon after these start up successes came challenges; not all entrepreneurs were able to maintain their ventures long term due to various factors such as lack of capital or business stability; however many continued on throughhard times until finally achieving success again during World War II when much needed munitions went into production right here at home!!! Although difficult times prevailed during war years there wasn't another true renaissance like during earlier decades where businesses flourished & families grew together... although today there are recognizable aspects reminiscent thereof… yet overall life remains tranquil & contentment
