The history of firearms and hats begins with the shooting of a deer by John Henry in 1875. Firearms were introduced into Plum, Pennsylvania in 1876 when Judge Isaac S. Cook shot an animal with a rifle from his farmstead. The first firearms law in the United States was passed in 1792 as part of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. This amendment states: "No person … shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself." In 1899, Plum residents John Aiken and Robert Mann bought two shotguns from Andrew Wadleigh at auction and set out to start a gunsmithing business. With their jointly owned shop, they began making firearms for local farmers and hunters. In 1901, they moved to a new building on Broad Street that would serve as their workshop until 1924 when their shop burned down. John Aiken's son, Bob Aiken II, continued father's tradition of manufacturing weapons for local farmers and hunters until he died in 1984. Today, there are three primary firearm manufacturers located within walking distance of Plum: Gunbroker's Armory (founded 1912), Samuel Colt Arms (founded 1839), and Brownells (founded 1889). Each manufacturer offers its own unique line of rifles, shotguns, handguns and ammunition products that are sure to please anyone who takes up shooting or hunting chores around town or outside the home!

Plum is a small town in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania with a population of 2,811 as of 2010. The name means "plum" in the local dialect. The town was founded in 1786 by George Washington and his family, who named it for their home country, England. The first post office was established in 1807, and the first township was organized in 1829. Plum has always been a manufacturing center with a heavy emphasis on agriculture. In 1915, the largest employer in Plum was the American Weavers Company which manufactured twine and fabrics for clothing and other uses. By 2000, however, most Plum businesses had closed or moved out of town because of competition from larger cities such as Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. In recent years, Plum has seen an increase in its nightlife scene with several bars and restaurants opening up aroundtown since there are no night classes or colleges nearby to offer evening programming or jobs during weekday hours. There is also a growing number of art galleries and creative boutiques that have opened up over the past few years to help stimulate the economy while providing unique shopping experiences for residents living nearby

Pine Township in Plum, Pennsylvania was organized on February 14, 1800. The first post office in this township was established on March 6, 1802. On October 25, 1864, the name of this township was changed to Plum, In 1910 it reverted back to Pine Township. On November 3rd of that year, the population of Plum totaled 268 residents and the town had a population of 2 officers and 12 residents. The first store in Plum opened its doors on December 1st of that year and the town's first physician practicing medicine in this township was Dr. Samuel Fenton who practiced from 1827-1829. The main crops grown here during these years were potatoes and corn but also raised some hogs and cattle. Many people worked for local farmers here such as James Haddock who owned an extensive farm with 640 acres which yielded over $1 million during these years; he also managed a sawmill which produced lumber for new homes and barns throughout the area. Haddock also built a house in 1935 which is now called "Haddock House" in honor of him. In 1905 the population of Plum had increased to 456 residents along with continued growth at local businesses including two stores (one grocery store/bakery) as well as a bank building which still stands today! By 1912 there were 10 businesses operating within the town limits while by 1916 there were 16 businesses! During World War I many men from Plum enlisted into various military units throughout Pennsylvania including those serving with The First Brigade Lancaster County Militia Regiment #521st Infantry Battalion (Regular). After the war many people returned home to start their own businesses but most notably Mrs. Anna Sells who reopened her bakery after being closed for several years due to prohibition laws passed by America’s Congress following World War I! This bakery quickly became one of the most popular operated within town limits becoming known as “Sells Bake Shop” until it closed its doors again in 1970 because of financial difficulties brought about by inflationary rates! This particular history lesson concludes with an overview of how Plum has evolved over time through various changes both good and bad including becoming a small community surrounded by larger ones like Lancaster County while remaining relatively unchanged since its incorporation into Lancaster County seventy five years ago
Plum, Pennsylvania was founded in 1753 by John Plum and is located in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The town was named for a small stream that ran through it. The first settler in Plum was James White who built a log cabin on the banks of the stream. In 1756, John Denny settled near the present day intersection of Elm and Cherry Streets in Plum. A year later, George Washington surveyed and laid out what is now Downtown Pittsburgh with his own land grant. In 1768, Daniel Boone traveled through Plum on his way to found Gettysburg; he stopped at the junction of Elm and Cherry Streets where he built his cottage known as White's Inn which still stands today.
