In 1827, John Hargrave opened his business in Norristown. This store became known for its quality firearms and ammunition. Over the years, other businesses followed Hargrave's lead and brought their own expertise to the market in order to provide customers with high-quality products at reasonable prices. The Gun Show Place located in downtown Norristown was one of these businesses. It was here that shooters from all over came to buy new guns or old ones being sold off by previous owners. From pistols to rifles, shotguns, and cannons, there were plenty of options on offer at this showplace! One such customer who frequented the Gun Show Place was John Aiken (known today as John Aiken III). During the late 1800s and early 1900s, he was one ofNorristown's most popular businessmen. Born in 1837 into a prominent family of farmers and merchants, Aiken soon established himself as an important figure in local life. He served as mayor twice and also helped found several civic organizations including theNorristown Grange#3A Social club which still meets annually today. Additionally, he enjoyed hunting and fishing tournaments which he would often participate in along with other local dignitaries.#1Aiken also donated much money towards various community projects throughout his lifetime.#2Aiken passed away in 1926 but his legacy lives on through his son John Aiken Jr., who continues to make donations to local causes both during Memorial Day weekend gatherings #3and during Christmas season events.#4John Aiken III is now 93 years old but still has a lot left to give!

The Norristown gun case history begins in 1892 with the purchase of a revolver by W.H. Crawford. The rifle that was included in the purchase was not actually a rifle, but it became known as such due to its unusual design. It consisted of an upper receiver that had two recessed circles that allowed it to be used as a shotgun instead of just a handgun. This weapon would become known as the "Norristown Rifle." In 1903, Johnnie Cochran shot and killed Smithers at a local dance hall while using the Norristown Rifle. From then on, the weapon came to be known as the "Cochran Gun." In 1934, Charles Whitman shot and killed twelve people at an University of California campus in Berkeley with his Norristown Rifle. The weapon is still considered one of the most iconic firearms in American history.
Norristown is a town in Berks County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 11,971 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Reading, PA–NJ–PA Metropolitan Statistical Area. Norristown was founded in 1795 by John Norriston and his wife Martha as a station on the Susquehanna River. The name means "town on the river" in German and reflects the town's location downstream from the larger community of Norristown Heights which was established about two miles upstream. In 1824, John Norriston donated land to form what is now downtown Norristown. The original courthouse building still stands today and serves as an office park for businesses and government officials. In 1868, a railroad station was built opposite downtown with tracks leading east to Philadelphia and west to Harrisburg. That same year, local farmers began planting corn on their properties that would later become fields used for cornbread production until World War II when bombing destroyed much of rural Berks County: most of what remains of cornbread production takes place in nearby Allentown or Lancaster Counties today. In 1903, Donaldson School opened in Norristown; it became one of the first schools open to students across all levels in Pennsylvania high school education system (now known as Penn State University). Donaldson School closed its doors in 1965 but continues to be stored away inside campus buildings until needed again such as for renovation or new construction; during recent years it has sometimes been available for rental out to groups who visit campus during non-students' hours only! The area now known as Downtown Norristown was once farmland where people grew wheat, potatoes, cabbage plants etc., before automobiles came along and made those crops impossible so people started driving around looking for other things to do since there were no places else to go! As more people moved into this area they started shopping at local stores like Sears & Roebuck before moving upriver towards Center City which developed because that's where banks were being built! Downtown Northampton (now AllentOWN) developed around these early stores because that's where business meetings/meetings were held before moving out into other neighborhoods after they had successful bids against each other!!! Today you can still see some evidence of these former stores including brick walls leftover from when store fronts were Stickley Stone Brick instead of modern Marvelite bricks...lol
