After the war ended, much of what had been produced here continued to be done here through companies like Alcoa and DuPont until those companies merged into ConocoPhillips in 2006. Today much of what remains within town limits is used for residential purposes such as housing developments called Park Ridge Estates or Fallowfield Manor – both being built largely since 2000 following construction boom associated with post-9/11 growth throughout western Pennsylvania triggered byMitt Romney's successful presidential election victory over Barack Obama on November 4th that year). It should also be noted that despite its high population density ( inhabitants per square mile) compared to other east-central Pennsylvania towns (elevation range: 568-1123 feet), Norristown does not experience any significant problems related to traffic congestion or air quality due to its small size relative to PA's larger cities or towns; however some residents do enjoy using public transportation options such as bus service available through several private operators including Penn Rapid Transit Company or SEPTA Regional Rail Service).
