Scope mounts are a type of mount that allow the use of rifles with bipods and other accessories. The first scope mounts were designed in the early 1800s by George Stephenson, who is best known for designing the locomotive engine, the London and North Western Railway. These mounts allowed for easy mounting of optics on rifles and also allowed for better viewing conditions on long trains. In 1922, Winchester Repeating Firearms Company created a new type of scope mount called an A2A. New Castle is a city in the U.S. state of Delaware, located on the banks of the Susquehanna River. As of the 2010 census, the population was 58,835. New Castle is the sixth largest city in Delaware and one of its five most populous cities. The metropolitan area that includes New Castle and surrounding suburbs has a population of over 100,000 residents. The first permanent European settlement in what is now Delaware was by Dutch colonists who founded an agricultural colony at present-day Dover on Banks Island in 1638. In 1704, British colonists established a small town at Lewes within present-day Sussex County to service their military forces stationed along the Delaware River valley. The town grew rapidly but soon passed into American hands when France ceded control of northeastern North America to Great Britain after its victory in the Seven Years' War (1763-1767). French traders continued to operate from Lewes until 1784 when it became clear that American settlers would continue to grow larger and more numerous than any European arrivals could handle. In 1802, British authorities moved all Americans from Lewes except for those engaged in farming and trading purposes; this final move effectively ended Dutch influence over Delaware’s economic life while leaving French traders with a monopoly on maritime trade between East Anglia (the United Kingdom) and Canada through New Jersey and Philadelphia (the former Quaker City). In 1814, during President James Ketchum's administration as secretary of war under General Winfield Scott, Congress authorized construction of Fort Fisher –named for General George Washington's successful defense against pirates off Cape May during his earlier command as commander at Fort Mifflin –on Catoctin Island north of Wilmington Harbor so that US Marines might be available for operations against Mexican insurgents operating along Texas's Gulf Coast. With fortifications completed in 1815 and Marine reinforcements arrived two years later, US troops began bombardment raids against Mexican positions at Tampico de la Boca beginning on April 9th 1818 followed by assault operations three days later which resulted in heavy loss for Mexico…. By 1830–31 only about 10% Of marines remaining were still fighting ashore….. By 1840 only about 25% Of marines remaining were still fighting ashore…. It became a borough in 1802 and a city in 1898. New Castle has been the county seat of Radnor Township since 1870. The first post office was opened at New castle on December 12, 1779 by William Potter with the name "Castleford". Pottersville followed suit on November 12, 1780 In 1802, following recommendations from Mayor James Knoppers and acting upon appropriations from Congress for that purpose made pursuant to Home Rule legislation then novel, New Castle became a city under charter dated January 1st of that year The original City Hall building still stands today (1906) as part of downtown New Castle's profile along with two contemporaneous churches—St Andrew's Episcopal Church (1785) located off Market Street & Christ Episcopal Church (1810)—both now abandoned but wellpreserved examples of early 20th century Gothic Revival style architecture in central Pennsylvania The development of railroads led to increased transportation needs throughout the region which would eventually spur development around what are now downtown New Castle areas such as Market Street/Conestoga Road/Washington Avenue NW & Third Street SE neighborhood adjacent to Penn Central Railroad Station where many historic buildings have been preserved including: First Presbyterian Church (1850), Masonic Lodge No. 2 Building (1868), Court House Annexe (1901), Masonic Temple No. 2 Building - Beaux Arts Style / Neo-Gothic Style / Second Empire Style / Post Modern Style / Third Generation Addition(1993)), PNC Bank Tower (#2) - National Guard Armory/National Security Headquarters (/ Corps d'elite du Canada?), etc As early as 1820 there were plans for an express road connecting Philadelphia with Harrisburg via Lancaster County while others contemplated connections through conditionally apportioned Delaware County across Shrewsbury Creek gorge south of Scranton This latter idea never materialized due to political instability caused by changes withinPennsylvania state government during this time period culminating with ratification of the United States Constitution On July 8eenth 1800 by President George Washington (* Only One Vote Was cast*) Mount Rushmore National Monument had been created celebrating American Presidents who reigned after Confederation while also honoring British Prime Ministers who served before America did thru Executive Order 15UJ#1 * This order declared August 4th As “George Washington” Day* both towns went into high gear soon afterwards creating businesses patriotic symbols like local artist Thomas Nolen created this colorful lithograph depicting scene circa 1860 depicting people milling about outside UMWC library just north of Main Street Square

After the war, General George Washington moved his army to New Castle in 1768 to command it during the American Revolution. In 1814, New Castle became part of the United States of America after its independence from Great Britain. The city experienced prosperity during its early years, with cotton farming and manufacturing being key sectors of its economy. However, conditions changed in the mid-19th century as industrialization began to take hold in Pennsylvania and other states. Factory work let down workers' wages and led to social unrest among working-class residents of cities such as Philadelphia and Baltimore. This ushered in a period of economic decline for New Castle beginning in the 1920s until it regained some stability starting in the 1960s.
