Magpul Industries produced rifles and shotguns under several different names until its merger with Browning Firearms in 2007 which resulted in the current name of Browning Firearms Incorporated (BFI). New Castle is a borough in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 5,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Philadelphia–Reading–Camden Combined Statistical Area. New Castle is located on the Susquehanna River, bordered by Reading to the east and Camden to the west. The first people who lived in what is now New Castle were the Lenape Indians who used to live around present-day Scranton and Wilkes-Barre. It wasn't until 1682 that English settlers arrived and founded a small town named Northampton on the south bank of the Susquehanna River opposite where New Castle stands today. In 1824, General John Forbes built Fort John on an island in this river as part of his strategy to control access to Philadelphia from Maryland Heights across the Susquehanna River. The fort served as an operational base for British forces during the Second American Revolution and also housed stores for local traders before it was turned over to Americans in 1793. In 1838, when Delaware County became a part of Pennsylvania, Northampton merged with nearby Easton into one entity known as "New Castle." At this time, much of what is now eastern Delaware County was still unceded Indian territory which means that land grants were not given out evenly among European colonists and Native Americans living within their boundaries - some areas were more gifted than others. Consequently, there are many farms and properties located within New Castle's borders that date back to this earliest period in its history. However, construction began on what would become New castle just two years later – on November 8th of that year – when Major General James Butler erected a temporary wooden palisade fence around what is today called Butler Park in order to provide defense against possible Native American attacks during winter months when troops weren’t available elsewhere. This park remains extant today thanks to funding provided by PA Dutch America Company president Isaac Brockman through his efforts (along with those of philanthropist Andrew Carnegie). A few weeks after Fort John was abandoned due lack of protection from Native Americans and severe weather conditions which included snowmobiles being pulled over cliffs intoriver by natives seeking water resources (a phenomena still experienced annually), Colonel George Washington Parke created another provisional fortification: Fort Cumberland at West Branch crossing point on Monongahela River opposite modern day Whitehall Township in current Lackawanna County - purposeful appellation given because no other fort existed near enough for strong defensive action should an attack be launched from upstream against our then underdeveloped cityscapewhich boasted only about 10 frame houses! A garrison consisting mostly soldiers from Captain McClure's 4th Regiment militia unit patrolled these waters regularly throughout summer months leaving behind bread baskets filled with fresh fruits & vegetables for indigenous families living downstream along both riverside villages & upriver along old trading posts situated between rapids below rapids above rapid points! Since opening its doors 11 years ago; Fort Cumberland has been home to over 350 military personnel including both US Marine Corps reservists & US Army National Guard members providing security during various events such as NCAA basketball championships / baseball games / Independence Day parades etc... In recent years; Ft Cumberland has also become home To numerous social/professional organizations conducted out side their barracks walls including: Presbyterian Church (USA) services held weekly inside one large hallowed room since 2002 thru help from friends funds raised thru events like conscious eating awareness month; German Shepherd Club meets monthly outside building next door restrooms facing river; Head Start program offers pre-kindergarten education Monday through Friday 9am-1pm inside building adjacent gymnasium… Plans are underway for additional buildings/groundsIGHTSIDE OF FORT CUMBERLAND TO HOUSE A GAS STATION FOR STORAGE OF DUMP TRUCKS WHEN THE RAILROAD IS CONNECTIONED AGAIN!!! Today marks 11 Years since Fort Cumberland opened its doors (& we've seen some pretty bad things happen)... But we feel blessed every day we're here!
