These include: Woodlands Park area adjacent to Pembroke School District headquarters; Hillsboro Commons subdivisions bordering Steelton; FirstEnergy Center area bounded by Third Avenue/East Broadway/Johnstown Road; extensive neighborhoods within easy driving distance of Downtown Lancaster County or just minutes away from various shopping malls in Lancaster County like I-76/Route 66 corridor between Harrisburg Junction/Plymouth Meeting and Yorktown Heights; etc

In 1836, Nicholas-Jacques Conte, a French arms manufacturer, patented an innovative design for a lighted firearm that became known as the “Conte Rifle.” The Conte Rifle featured a revolving drum magazine that held two rounds, and was fired by cocking the hammer on an arm stock. This weapon made its first public appearance at the Salon des Indes in Paris in 1837. In 1840, John Ballinger designed and manufactured a similar lighted firearm called the “Ballinger Rifle.” The Ballinger Rifle differed from the Conte Rifle in that it had a fixed magazine that could hold up to four rounds. This weapon was well-received by military and law enforcement personnel alike, and saw use throughout Europe during the 1840s and 1850s. During the late 1800s and early 1900s, various manufacturers developed new designs for lighted firearms. One such company was Colt Firearms Company, which produced one of the most popular handgun calibers of all time –the .45 ACP-. This cartridge allowed for high power and accuracy with little recoil due to its smoothbore design. Gunlights continued to be produced by various companies through World War II until they were replaced by electronic means such as flashlight radios or television receivers
