However, during this time period also came some high-profile incidents including arson at a local paper mill which caused significant damage; numerous drug overdoses that have claimed lives among Nanticokerians; as well as several suicides attributed to difficult working conditions at factories or businesses within walking distance of homes (e.g., factories producing steel products).
