Murrysville, Pennsylvania was founded in 1792 by John Murry and his wife Deborah. At that time, the area was part of a territory belonging to the British Crown. The town was named after John Murry’s father, who had died in 1748. In 1814, the United States acquired what is now Pennsylvania from Great Britain. As a result of this acquisition, John Murry’s son Eli became the first person to own a gun in the new state of Pennsylvania. The gun industry in America really began to take off after the US Civil War when surplus firearms started becoming available again. This allowed for more people to buy and use guns for self-defense as well as hunting and target shooting. Gun slings were one of the earliest items to be manufactured using this new technology. Murrysville is a small town in Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 513 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The first Europeans to visit Murrysville were French traders and missionaries in 1758-59. A fur trading post operated there from 1759 to 1765. The first settlers in what is now Murrysville were three families who arrived in 1786: John Pugh, James Brouncker, and Abraham Morehouse. They named their new settlement after Colonel John Murray of Virginia who had come through that region on his way to join General George Washington's army during the American Revolution. Murrysville was originally a farming community with only a few trees standING today due to the lack of rainfall over many years! Most notably however are four obelisks which still are standing today near the intersection of US 422 and PA 814 (the road now known as Westmere Avenue). These remain some of oldest public works remaining in Butler County! In addition to these Obelisk relics most notable about this community today include its unique Pipe Organ playing history as well as its strict Methodist church governance which has led it into various ceremonies over the years including state funerals for Presidents Harry S Truman and Franklin D Roosevelt!

In 1894, Murrysville was renamed Pittsburgh after General John J. Pershing, commander of American Expeditionary Forces in World War I. The city's growth continued during the 1920s and 1930s, with industry moving out of town to new sites such as North Side Arsenal and Homestead Air Force Base. However, murals depicting Pittsburgh's rich history and people are still visible throughout the city today.

Additionally, transportation became increasingly difficult to access due to distance and rough terrain. As a result of these factors, Murrysville began experiencing significant decline by 1810 and ceased operations altogether by 1816.
