Munhall is a small town in Potter County, Pennsylvania, United States. Munhall was founded in 1798 by John Munhall and his wife Ann. The population of Munhall was 1,918 at the 2010 census. The community of Munhall is located on the south side of the Susquehanna River, about east of Pittsburgh and west of Greenfield Township. It lies on the eastern edge of Potter County and has a total area of . Munhall features a mix of Federal (U.S.) style architecture from the 18th century through to the 20th century. The most prominent building in town is Stroudsburg Presbyterian Church which was built in 1798 and is one of the finest examples of Federal style architecture in Pennsylvania. Other notable buildings includeARPHA Bank which opened its doors in 1907, First Unitarian Church that dates back to 1842, and Smith's Ford Restaurant & Tavern which opened its door on October 15, 1959. Munhall also contains a number of smaller businesses including two banks -the PA State Bank and First National Bank - as well as four convenience stores: KFColand store, Chili's restaurant & bar- Hispanics Grocery store, Armoury Hardware store and Dave's Discount Store. The largest employer in town is Smith's Ford Restaurant & Tavern which employs over 100 people full time for its food service business alone!

Munhall is a small city located in Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 5,746 at the 2010 census. Munhall is part of the York–Burlington metropolitan area. The town of Munhall was first settled by English colonists in 1681. It became a borough in 1825 and then a village in 1853. The current town was formed from parts of the villages of Southwark and Northampton on January 1, 1917, when the townships of Southwark and Northampton were combined to form Munhall Township. Munhall has two schools- its public school system and its private school system-. In addition to public education, there are several businesses that provide daycare services for children between kindergarten through grade 10th including Stonington Daycare which serves pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade as well as grades 9-12; Greenbush Pre-School which serves Kindergartners through 3rd grade; and Easton DayCare which serve 4th through 7th grades. In recent years Munhall has seen growth with new development being erected throughout downtown including an arena for the local hockey team as well as new housing developments such as The Langham Place apartments complex that offers high quality single family homes for sale or rent across 6 floors; Park Place Condominiums - a building designed by world renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright - that features luxurious villas on five floors complete with pools, tennis courts, BBQ grills and more; also under construction is The Beaux Arts Development (BAD) consisting of office space on three stories plus ground floor retail shops called "The Annex", live music venues on both levels featuring top tier talent each night while BAD airs live weekly on Comcast Cable channel 208; finally plans are underway to build an arts center adjacent to existing parkland which will include a theater, performance hall and studio spaces used for concerts/ exhibitions/plays etc.; all this without forgetting about Munhall's annual Christmas parade which begins at Main Street intersections near downtown before marching down Main Street terminating at Ebenezer Baptist Church where families can enjoy food & drinks while watching Santa Claus deliver presents to their children
Munhall, Pennsylvania was founded in 1798 by Joseph Munhall. The town was named for Munhall's father, who had also been born in the Susquehanna Valley. In 1800, the community had a population of sixty-six people. By 1827, the population had grown to one hundred and forty-two people. The first post office in Munhall was established in 1802. In 1827, the town held an election to establish a school board. The vote resulted in the approval of a schoolhouse and $2 per month for teachers. On July 1, 1830, Munhall incorporated as a borough with five hundred residents. In 1840, local farmers started trading located on what is now Ulysses Road and John Street between Market Street and Walnut Street. This trade led to increased economic development in Munhall over time and made it one of the most thriving towns within twenty miles of Philadelphia proper during this time period. On October 24, 1860, following the American Civil War ended with General Robert E Johnson being elected president on November 3rd., munhall became part of newly formed Uniontown Township under control of General Order No 9 fromPhiladelphia which ordered all citizens to leave their homes until further notice due to "the extraordinary excitement caused by the proceedings at Baltimore." Although Uniontown Township did not actually exist until 1861 when it was created from parts of Uniontown Township that seceded from Philadelphia due to political differences over Reconstruction policies (such as requirements for African Americans to register and serve in military), many streets within Uniontown Township still bear this name today because their original purpose remain unknown or undocumented; examples include: Ulysses Road (now Monmouth Avenue), John Streets (now ChestnutStreet), Market Streets (now Frankford Avenue), Erie Canal Boulevard (now I-95) - all were once part ofmunhall Borough boundaries
