Munhall is a small town in Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,336 at the 2010 census. Munhall is located on the Susquehanna River. The first Europeans to visit Munhall were French traders in 1759 and 1760. In 1764, George Washington and his army passed through the town while campaigning against the British in New York state. The next year, General Anthony Wayne arrived here with his troops after crossing the Delaware River into northern Pennsylvania. Munhall was originally part of Susquehanna Township but it became a separate municipality in 1892. The current name of Munhall comes from John Munhall, a landowner who donated $100 to the townspeople in 1847 for their Improvement Association project. The new name honored John's son-in-law and namesake of nearby Burlington, Ontario - Samuel Unford (1784–1850). In 1907, local resident John Pugh donated land for a public library which opened in 1911. today's library building was completed in 1928 by architect Wm Jealous and built at a cost of $225,000. On October 15th 1909, Mayor Harry Hoyer dedicated Stroudsburg Municipal Cemetery as part of an ambitious program to improve rural funerals throughout Butler County by providing better burials services at no additional cost to families or municipalities within Butler County affected by such programs as Moravian Church Cemetery Foundation's cooperative endeavor known as " cemetery relief." Three years later construction began on what would become one of Butler County’s most famous landmarks - Town Hall - that has served as both municipal offices and community center since its dedication on September 12th 1912! Today Munhall boasts two fulltime libraries plus multiple branch locations including one located inside Town Hall itself!

Munhall is home to the historic First Presbyterian Church and the John D. Rockefeller Presidential Library and Museum. The first settler in what is now Munhall was George Hardin who arrived in 1784 from Kittanning Township in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. He started a small farm on the east side of US 11 near present day Allentown. In 1819, John Dabney founded Dabney & Hardin law firm in Munhall with John Hardin as his partner until his death in 1875. The firm became known as Hardin, Dabney & Co., one of America's most influential legal firms during its time. In 1907 they merged with Wickersham & McCloy to form Wickersham McCloy &Hardin LLP which still practices law today apart from occasional specialties including real estate and energy consulting (the latter being their primary business since merger). In 1865, James Mclntyre organized a local militia unit called "The 2nd Regiment Mill Guard" to protect mills around the town against bandit raids by Native Americans known as “The Sioux” or “Saulteaux” due to their previous encounter with these groups some 25 miles away at Fort Snelling on Lake Superior shoreline near Greenville Junction (present day North Stroudsburg). The company had about 30 men when it disbanded after two years due to lack of supplies and equipment; however this experience helped Familletti lay the foundation for what would become Munhall's strong economy over ensuing decades thanks to its proximity to major industrial plants such as those at Bethlehem Steel Works and Carnegie Steel Corporation - all located within a few miles of town limits!
