Monroeville was a small town in the western Pennsylvania area during the late 1800s. It is now a ghost town, and only remains as an outline in Google Maps. The community was located on the banks of the Monongahela River, about two miles southwest of Pittsburgh. The first mention of Monroeville comes from Captain John Monroe in his journal for July 25, 1790. He noted that he had reached “a place called Monroeville” after traveling for six days through “the most difficult country imaginable.” By 1802, there were three stores and four families living in the community. The decline of Monroeville began soon after its incorporation into the Township of McKeesport in 1807. With few opportunities to earn a living and little population to support them, many residents abandoned their homes and businesses by 1810. In 1815, all but one family left for good when land ownership within McKeesport changed hands; however, few residents returned until 1830 when another group bought the property from its original owners – this time for $1 per acre (!!). After 1830, only a single family remained active in business: The Smiths who ran a general store on East Beaver Street near present-day Bridge Avenue until 1851 when it closed due to competition from larger stores. Since then, no further development has taken place within those boundaries which are currently known as part of McKeesport Township limits to the south-west (according to public records). Only an outline remains today due to numerous changes over time including flooding which destroyed much of what used to be monroevilleoisland; however some evidence suggests that parts may still survive as ruins or foundations among other properties around McKeesport Township limits

In 1814, General George Washington received orders to retreat from Yorktown after leading American forces against Cornwallis' army at Battle of Yorktown desertion charge on September 12th - one day after his inauguration as President of the United States. Despite being outnumbered three-to-one by Cornwallis' force (the British army only counted about 2600 men), Washington led an impressive withdrawal that left behind a strategic victory: The Americans retained control over most of Virginia despite losing almost 2/3rds their original number in killed and wounded plus another 1/3rd lost with captivity or flight; handily dodging any possible British counterattack plans designed to retake all or parts of Virginia peninsula once he withdrew home". This event would come to be known as "The Disappearance" because no evidence exists that American forces ever retreated or withdrew slowly - instead it seems as ifWashington simply vanished without a trace leaving behind an empty battlefield where errors may have occurred due to inexperience or simple negligence on his part while simultaneously achieving something truly incredible... [T]he story has remained bits and pieces throughout history due primarily to abundant military documentation still unavailable twenty years after its occurrence which could easily verify what happened."
