Meadville is a small town in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 3,752 at the 2010 census. Meadville is located on the Susquehanna River and is bordered by Huntingdon to the north, Lebanon to the east, and Clearfield Township to the south. Meadville was founded in 1788 by George Washington as a small trading post on the upper Susquehanna River. It became an important manufacturing center during the 19th century due to its production of whiskey and other products used in traditional eastern industrial communities such as Canandaigua and Buffalo Grove. In 1875, Meadville became part of what was then called Huntingdon County; it has remained that way since. The town's name comes from John Mead (1748-1815), who surveyed lands around present-day Meadville in 1787. He named his settlement after himself because he had recently returned from England with horses and milk supplies for American settlers there. The first settler arrived in 1792 and soon developed a significant trade in lumber, leather goods, flour, cheese, honey and eggs for local farmers. By 1800, Meadville had a population of about 100 people. Two years later it had grown sufficiently so that business leaders decided to move the seat of government from Lancaster to Meadville so that more people could be involved in day-to-day affairs. The original courthouse still stands today within walking distance of most residents; it served as both court house and library until 1978 when it was replaced by a new building built on Swenzer Street near Main Street which now houses city hall services). A large number of early families came through Meadville on their way westward during this time: many among them are buried at Mount Pleasant Cemetery nearby (elderly citizens can still view pioneer tombs including those of James Krieger (1789-1853) who led Pennsylvania's only successful land grant campaign). By then, however,gunslings had already become popular as projectiles for firing from bows because they were much more efficient than traditional arrow shot approaches. Gunslings quickly became popular among military forces all over the world due to their ability to increase range and accuracy when fired from various weapons including firearms, crossbows, cannons and even hand-held explosives devices such as mines! Today, gunslings continue to play an important role in many aspects of warfare both locally and far beyond where they originated!

Meadville is a town in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,564 at the 2010 census. Meadville was founded in 1795 by Major John Mead and his family. It became known as the "Gateway of Berks" because of its strategic location on the border between Berks County and Philadelphia County. In 1814, Meadville became part of the new state of Pennsylvania after it was surveyed from east to west by Captain John Folsom. The first store in Meadville opened in 1795 on Market Street. The first post office in Meadville was established in 1800. The first school in Meadville was built on Main Street in 1802. Today, there are three schools located within Meadville: one public school, one private school, and one religious/educational institution (Meadville Academy). In 1814, when Pennsylvania became a nation, Meadvillians voted for George Washington as their president. On November 3rd of that year, President Washington presented a certificate of appreciation to residents of Armstrong County for their support during the war against Great Britain.
