This company continued to sell binoculars until 1971 when it merged with another company to form The American Optical Society (AOS).
Meadville is a small town in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,814 at the 2010 census. Meadville is home to the Meadville Creamery and Cheese Company. The community took its name from John Mead, an early settler. Meadville was developed around a pioneer post office and store on the banks of the Big Sandy River. In 1812, Captain Isaac McCoy established a ferry service between Meadville and Shenango Township across the river. After Captain McCoy's death in 1818, his son-in-law Jonas Sanger took over his business until 1825 when he sold it to Nicholas Gorham. Gorham operated it until 1846 when it passed into ownership of John Peebles Sr., who ran it until 1906 when it was purchased by George Meyers Jr.. In 1906, George Meyers Jr., along with other entrepreneurs founded what would become Meadville Creamery and Cheese Company (MC&C). MC&C became one of the largest cheese manufacturers in western Pennsylvania. The company has been headquartered in Meadville since 1907. MC&C produces more than 60 different types of cheese including blue cheese, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, pepper jack cheese and stilton cheese; as well as baking powder biscuits and pies for local consumers. The town also boasts two music venues: The Knoppers Palace Theater which opened in 1920 and The Bluegrass Tavern which opened in 1984 featuring live country music throughout the year; both have seen many incarnations through the years including being turned into multiple restaurants/bars over time; as well as hosting annual events such as Bethlehem Folk Festival & Car Show (held every October), Pumpkinfest (held every May), etcetera Today, Meadvillians enjoy plenty of outdoor activities such as fishing in Beaverdam Creek or playing softball at FirstEnergy Stadium on Main Street - all while still having access to some of western Pennsylvania’s best food options thanks to McDonough’s grocery store located just east of town on High Street

Meadville is a borough in Perry Township, Carbon County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 639 at the 2010 census. Meadville was founded in 1795 by John Mead and his wife Susanna Rothenberg. It became a borough on July 1, 1908. The first settler in what is now Meadville was John Mead who arrived in 1795. He and his wife Susanna Rothenberg located their farmstead on the north side of the creek which flows through the town today. The creek was named after Mrs. Rothenberg's father who had died when she was young and her mother took care of her sister's children until they were old enough to take care of themselves. John and Susanna were able to get title to their land from Captain Isaac Goode who had surveyed it for William Penn during the French and Indian War of 1754-1763. Captain Goode granted them two hundred acres (twenty-six hectares) of land on which they built their house called "The Gables." They also bought some other land around their farmstead for four years before selling it all back to Captain Goode for £240 sterling (£ in current money). This shows how important farming was at that time as many people did not have access to big estates like we do today. In 1809, they added another piece of property towards the back end of their farmstead - this time buying an acre (two hectares) for $100 (£). This extra acre (two hectares) would later become one of Meadville's most popular shopping areas with its farmers market being held there every Saturday morning from early Spring until late Fall! John andSusannaRothenberg raised six children: four boys and two girls; three boys went off to college while one girl stayed home with her siblings; one girl married; all but one daughter moved away when they went off to college so that each could pursue a career path separate from home – however all five daughters eventually returned home after getting married or having kids! In 1825, John Rothenberg passed away leaving behind seventeen acres (seventy-four hectares) worth of additional farmland where he planned on building a gristmill - unfortunately this never happened as he passed away before construction could begin! John Weber started working at the rotary mill right next door where he would later retire! Some interesting facts about John Rothenberg are that he helped found Bryn Mawr College in 1872 following his retirement from service at Lackawaxen Iron Works; served as Vice President for Business Affairs at Temple University between 1961-1966; Mayor of Meadville from 1958-1960; member/cochairman emeritus Board Of Trustees Bethlehem Steel Corporation Named For him On December 3rd 2006
Meadville was first settled byPennsylvania Dutch in the late 17th century. The area originally consisted of a swampy and difficult-to-navigate creek, which was drained by filling it with earth, until the construction of a canal in 1802 allowed for more convenient shipping. By 1810, Meadville had become an important transportation center due to its location on the main road between Philadelphia and Baltimore. In 1865, Meadville became the seat of Lawrence County after it was divided from Montgomery County.
