Lower Burrell is a town in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 7,846 at the 2010 census. Lower Burrell is part of the Allentown-Easton-Middletown, PA Metropolitan Statistical Area. The borough of Easton is also included in this area. The first settlers to Lower Burrell were James and Elizabeth Beekman who arrived in 1789. They established a small farm on the edge of town which they named "Beekman's Claim." In 1814, John and Jane Cook came to Lower Burrell from Bucks County and began to build a house on their property now known as Cook's House (now residents of Easton). By 1827, some other family members had arrive and they started to rename their property "Burrell" after one of their brothers who had died young. In 1828, William Hulton purchased land in Lower Burrell from John Hunter for $2/acre which he used for his own farming purposes until about 1830 when he sold it off again for $4/acre. In 1840, Rufus Dickson bought 10 acres from William Hulton for $10/acre which he used for his own farming purposes until about 1850 when he sold it off again for $15/acre. From 1850-1860 many families operated farms here including: Wm Crouse & Sons; Jno Pugh & Bros.; Ltt Williams & Sons; Geo Fenton; Ephraim Kappenberger; Abraham Kopelman; Jacob Heydrichs; Joseph Weitzel & Bros.; David Seligmann; Amos Whitehead. From 1860-1870 most people left because of lack of crops or other reasons but there are still some families that operate farms today such as: Harry Weitzel Jr.; Julius Seligmann Sr.; Moses Kopelman Jr.; Anna Seligmann et al.. In 1865 Isaac Snyder located 300 feet south east of current day lower burrell on what is now known as Snyder's Road (later renamed Market Street) and built a log cabin called "Snyder's Cabin". This was the beginning of what would become known as Snyder Township while lower burrell itself only became developed as an actual town in 1903 when the village name was changed from Beechhurst to UpperBurrell due to objections by some resident landowners who did not want their namesakes associated with a new development within walking distance of their homes. It wasn't until 1906 that even upper burrella got its own post office although it continued operations outof town under different aliases until 1935 when it finally closed down due to low mail volume and consolidation into Allentown/. With all these changes taking place throughout history there has never been one person who held complete control over everything happening within LowerBurrel so much like how things currently stand where people can come&go at will making life difficult during times such as these where businesses close or go out Of Business without notice while residents must constantly search through old newspapers&files to find anything that may help them understand what happened back then& why certain decisions were made etc... It really speaks volumes about our society today where anyone can come&go any time they please while everyday events take place without anyone being able to hold responsible(except maybe those few people who run our government).

Over time, Lower Burrel has seen several other leaders assume leadership roles within its community including two mayors (1948-1950), three justices of court (1962-1968), two postmasters (1967-1976), one representative from each township (1984-1986), one public works superintendent (1983-1987) and one business photographer (1981). Today, Lower Burrell remains a vibrant small town with active cultural life and strong economic ties to neighboring townships.
