Lebanon, Pennsylvania is a small town in the Allegheny Mountains of western Pennsylvania. The population was 2,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The region that now includes Lebanon was first settled by the Lenape Indians in 1681. The area became part of independent Pennsylvania in 1772 and was annexed by West Virginia in 1802. In 1821, it became a part of Ohio as part of the Indiana Territory. During the American Civil War, Lebanon sided with Confederate States forces and lost its status as an incorporated city to Fort Worth, Texas. In 1954, when President Dwight D. Eisenhower created the United States Atomic Energy Commission (AEC), Beirut became one of its original five member cities within AEC's newly created Region IV headquarters in Greenbelt MD., which later included Washington DC and Philadelphia PA.. Beirut served as AEC's Regional Center for Eastern Middle East until its closure effective July 1st 2006 due to budget cuts caused by the Recession; however AEC reopened Beirut on October 15th 2006 with new leadership and a focus on renewable energy development- including solar power installation- reorganizing all City services into three divisions: Parks & Recreation; Housing; Urban Development/Economic Development The City Council has since renamed itself "Lebanon Township" after adopting Resolution No 3-2008 establishing two wards (1) called "North Lebanon", stretching from Butler Rd NW to Moreland Ave NE and bordered on both sides by Lebanon High School property line while also including much of North Arlington Cemetery ward 2 called "South Lebanon". Livingston County has been set up so there are no wards or areas where voting takes place only civil township meetings take place there currently but this may change soon as portions of South Lebanon sit within Allegheny County

Lebanon, Pennsylvania is a small town in Elk County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. Lebanon was founded by John Forbes in 1753 and named for Scottish explorer and missionary George Forbes. The first settler in Lebanon was James Robertson who built a log cabin on the present site of Lebanon in 1757. There were no farmers living here until 1820 when Michael Byrne started growing corn and wheat on his farmstead northwest of town. In 1832, he also began raising horses for local transportation to markets in nearby Pittsburgh. By 1840, Byrne had 7 houses and 45 head of stock on his property which included cornfields, hay meadows, water fowl hunting grounds and an extensive fruit orchard). He also raised pigs and hogs for meat production and sold eggs from his barn door from 1841-1847. This large commercial enterprise allowed him to build up a good business reputation throughout the region including importing goods from England (including pork) as well as exporting apples to France and other European countries before moving operations to their current location north of town in 1868 when he purchased land east of town from John Pemberton. In 1865-1866, Lebanon became one of four townships within Elk County when it was created following the westernward expansion of that county under Act No. 915 of 1865; this act provided for the organization of counties based upon mergers between Allegheny County (northwest), Beaver County (northeast), Butler County (southwest) and Huntingdon County (southwest). As part of this reorganization process many families left Lebanon or moved away due to changes occurring within these new local government structures; some returned after a period outlying themselves with new businesses established near their old homes such as bakery turning out breads for local markets or dairy cattle raising for milk production only to be driven away again after railroads came through the area establishing Markets not too far from home - creating what we now call "the Lebanese Experiment". The village developed slowly over several decades until it exploded during World War II due largely to its proximity to munitions plants operated by Duquesne Steel Works located just outside town limits along US 27/PA 825 miles northeast thereof where lead bullets were being made into projectiles used by both Nazi Germany during World War II whileDuquesne also manufactured artillery shells essential for attacking American forces across Europe - leading directly thereto our current nickname "The Arsenaltown." In 1954 a report entitled "A Study Of Bethlehem Township" prepared by then Supervisor Harry Fenton recommended that all properties within Bethlehem Township be annexed into neighboring boroughs providing tax relief thereby bringing much needed economic development & job opportunities right around us! And so it happened – Bethlehem Township absorbed most if not all its northwestern neighbor's properties becoming known today as Lebanon Borough! At its peak population over 10K citizens comprising nearly 60% rural percentage; now active & thriving downtown has become vibrant hub scene serving restaurants & nightlife while still keeping much acreage remaining rural excepting 2 undeveloped parcels surrounding main sqldm - making it yet another facet+storied aspect+enjoyable place called Beirut! During WWII an exemption was granted allowing exportation/exportation ONLY OF BREAD TO FRANCE!!! resulting in majority owner(s) being Lebanese exporters...& word got out...thus ledto massive growth overnight!"
