Lansdale, Pennsylvania is a small city in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 3,055 at the 2010 census. Lansdale is the home of PA's only nuclear power plant and one of the few cities in Pennsylvania without an auto industry. It also has a large agricultural sector with more than 100 farms and 20 corn mills. The area that would become Lansdale was first settled by Germans in 1795. By 1828 there were about 150 people living here primarily as farmers. In 1836 the Susquehanna Railroad was built through this area and much of the farming community abandoned for good. However, some new settlers began to arrive and starting developing this land into what would become Lansdale proper. In 1882 local developer John Aken developed what became known as "Aken's Addition" which included a village hall and many small businesses including a grocery store, post office, physician's office and two hotels- one called The Canaday Hotel (now part of Keystone Brewing) and another called The Old Forge Hotel (now part of Vail Resorts). This addition greatly boosted business activity in what would become Lansdale but it also caused some controversy because it was adjacent to then-unfenced lands used by Native Americans for hunting grounds. However, by 1916 most of these businesses had been replaced by brick factories being developed along Route 362 which served as an important transportation artery for ruralPennsylvanians during World War I when goods moved east from Philadelphia on railroads to be distributed throughout the country wartime demand

Lansdale is a town in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 7,853 at the 2010 census. The Lansdale Micropolitan Statistical Area has a population of 19,865. Lansdale is located in the eastern edge of Lehigh Valley and includes all of the townships between Bethlehem and Allentown including Lansdale; Springettsville; Whitehall; and Bethel Park. The first recorded mention of Lansdale was in 1224 when John de la Pole granted land to Walter de Montfort for his support against King Richard I of England. In 1681, George Washington and his retinue stopped at Lansdale during their journey from Philadelphia to Germantown. The first mill on the Susquehanna River in present-day Lansdale was built by Nicholas Negus in 1741. The Negus family operated mills until 1828 when they sold their business to John Denny who ran it until 1851 when he sold it to George Hulbert who operated it until 1862 when it passed into the hands of trusteeship which it remains under today. In 1865, Congressman Charles Payson took up residence in what is now known as "Denny's House" (now occupied by West Chester University) while attending a meeting on Lebanon Creek Township within that township - later that year he founded what would become Lansdalen Borough Council thereupon and continued to serve on council throughout his career before retiring in 1979. In 1896 local philanthropist Julius Rosenwald donated $10 000 towards building an Industrial School for Boys which would eventually become Penn State Milton Saperstein School District No 2 (now Roanoke College). This donation made possible the establishment of one of Pennsylvania's most successful high schools – Pennsylvania state Normal School – also known as “Lansdale Normal” or simply “Lansdale” – enrolling its first students on September 6th, 1896 with instruction beginning fall term that October morning! After more than 150 years of success as an educational institution serving those living within its boundaries both academically and professionally, Penn State Milton Saperstein Elementary/High School celebrated its centennial anniversary this past summer with events such as lunches provided by Penn State Berks County Community College campus auxiliary program along with gift baskets from many local businesses…. On Monday October 4th 2017 marks 100 years since “Lansdale Normal” opened its doors!

After being merged into Pittsburgh in 1859, Lansdale experienced significant growth and progress during the late 19th century and early 20th century.
