This lock was designed to be easy to use and fit most handguns. It consisted of two parts: the upper arm and lower arm which were attached together by a hinge. The lock could be opened with one hand while it held closed with the other. The nextgunlocktoexistinLansdalewasthe“Knoblock” lock. This lock was designed to look like a knob so that it would be more difficult for someone to snatch an unsecured firearm without looking at it closely. It consisted of three parts: the handle, which was attached at one end to the upper arm, the knobs on either side of the knob, and a piece of metal that allowed you to easily open it with one hand while closed with another. The “Tupperware” & “Knoblock”Lock seen above were only some of the earliest versions of gun locks available in Lansdale. Over time, other typesoflocksweredevelopedandaddedtothelistofthe oldestgunslingersinAmerica. The screwdriver-style keyshole punch was developed as an alternative to traditional keypunching techniques because it allowed guns to be locked without needing human hands

Lansdale is a town in Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 9,591 at the 2010 census. Lansdale is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in what became Lansdale was John Welsh who arrived in 1795. He and his family were the first non-native people to live in the present day town of Lansdale when it was created on November 10, 1800 from parts of Friendship Township and Westmoreland Township. In 1824, John Welsh's son William moved to what would become Lansdale and started a tannery which still stands today as one of its main businesses. In 1829, he married Anne Bedell and they started a grocery store which continued to be successful until 1901 when it closed due to lack of business competition. William Welsh also founded the Mechanics Institute in 1832 which later became Penn State University (now known as Penn State Altoona). In 1875, David Biddle purchased land south of the original center of Lansdale from John Welsh for $2,000 and began construction on what would eventually become Boulevard Street NW & Clairmont Avenue NW - now called Biddle Plaza – making Lansdale an incorporated municipality with its own government and school system. The town site had been Sauers Creek where Native Americans had gathered for hunting and fishing during summertime before moving downstream into more open areas near present day Monroeville PA along Allegheny River where they built their shelters against winter weather. The cornerstone for Boulevard Street NW & Clairmont AvenueNW was laid by David Biddle on October 8th 1865 while he was serving as Mayor of Pittsburgh with then Commonwealth Senator Hooker as his Vice President. The formal dedication took place on May 15th 1969 after which Boulevard Street became one continuous street name between Clairmont Ave & Monroeville PA all the way down to Washington Blvd SE cornering I-376 just east of US 14Th St SE; this long street name remains unique today among similar sized cities across Pennsylvania (& even neighboring Maryland!). Bridgewater Place still exists adjacent to Penn State Altoona where many students dormitories are located!
