In 1781, Captain John Lancaster led an expedition that explored what is now Delaware County and founded Reading on the Susquehanna River. Lancaster also founded nearby Mechanicsburg and Chambersburg. The city was incorporated as a borough on April 14, 1876, from portions of Center Township and West Chester Township. It became a city on December 3rd of that year with a total population of 14,672 residents. On November 5th of 2006, Mayor Ed Rendell announced plans to close two schools in downtown Lancaster due to budget limitations; these closures would result in the loss of about 350 jobs across the city center but also create new opportunities for businesses located around those school buildings including restaurants and nightlife venues. This change led toincreased casualty rates as opposed to battlefield success because now commanders could aim artillery pieces with precision instead of relying on chance shots or guesswork (based on distance or terrain). By 600 AD cannons had become available which revolutionized Warfare by allowing armies across multiple countries/regions unite under one banner against opposing forces singlehandedly! With this advancement came another revolution within warfare: battle tactics changed from reliance on foot soldiers fighting hand-to-hand into massed formations using cannonfire! That same year John Dee published A New Theory Of Gunnery Which Revolutionized Warfare For All Time! This document outlined how artillery should be used during fighting Ohne Lance und Pferde!!! This book helped spur development towards modern infantry weapons such as rifles which replaced cannons centuries later! It wasn’t until 1847 when Johann Germain constructed his “ Modern rifle ” which represented a major advance over previous designs in terms firepower, range and accuracy; however it still relied largely upon powderguns firing ball bearings instead of nails! After World War I arms manufacturers turned their attention back towards muzzleloading firearms such as shotguns where Derringer & Colt continued producing quality products until 1957 when production stopped due to competitive developments between America & Russia
