Both high school football teams are known as the "Kings" while their basketball team is known as "The Beavers." Both King's Valley High School and North Oakland High School offer Dual enrollment opportunities for high school seniors who want to continue their education but do not want to attend college full time or become lawyers or other professional professionals like those found at most universities today. In addition thereto both schools offer dual enrollment opportunities for middle/high school juniors who want an opportunity to earn college credit while still living in their home town without having to leave their homesickness behind!

In 1728, Nicholas Livingston erected a log courthouse and Revolutionary War flagpole on land he had purchased from the proprietor of the sloop "Queen Anne", later renamed "George Washington". The new courthouse served as the center of government for much of central Pennsylvania during Kingston's early years. In 1802, Kingston became part of York County when it was organized from parts of Pennsylvania and Delaware. It remained an independent municipality until 1821, when it merged with York County to form Susquehanna County. In 1917, Kingston became home to Penn Central Railroad's main line between Scranton and Buffalo. The railroad left Kingston shortly thereafter and no longer used the town as its primary depot or business center; instead, it located its operations in nearby Hazleton. The population of Kingston decreased significantly following World War II; however, it has since experienced modest growth due to suburbanization and immigration into the area. today, Kingston is a small but growing community that retains strong cultural traditions dating back to its founding days.
