During World War II, munitions manufacturers relocated to Johnstown after they discovered how important steel production was to America's war effort. The town experienced several boom years during the war due to its manufacturing capabilities. However, the post-war period saw stagnation and decline for JOHNSTOWN until 1990 when it regained some of its former glory with the founding of The Shooting Gallery Museum
